"Brad Blakeman, a very charming, intelligent spinmeister in Florida depicted in the film. He was, by his own account, the man at least partly behind "Sore Loserman," "Surrender Gorethy," "The Gorinch Who Stole the Election,"

IIRC many of these ideas were first brought forth on Free Republic and it was freeper who hired the plane shown in the movie towing the "Surrender Gorethy" banner.

As I wrote in an earlier thread, I might have enjoyed the movie if I wasn’t a news and FR junkie, and was too ignorant to know that it was 75% crap. I watched because I wondered where “Sore/Loserman” would show up, and sadly, only one scene contained the signs, and you had to pause your recorder to see it.

The best book about the election in 2000 was written by Bill Sammon, “At Any Cost: How Al Gore Tried to Steal the Election”.
It’s riviting .. you will not be able to put it down.

It is a good account and factual.
Those were great days in front of the Veeps mansion at 34th & Mass.
Teasing the Gorons with "Get out of Cheneys house" was big fun.

Driving from Maine to Massachusetts for Thanksgiving that year with the Sore/Loserman sticker on the rear window was funny as all get out too. We started calling it The Fingers From Fags Tour.
Great times...

Your caption should read “See if you can find the ‘GO LIE’ poster in this picture”......took me way too long to find it to admit! I just thought you mis-spelled ‘golly’!

Weird that this should come up. Should have been in 2000, or 2004. Lieberman will appear at the Pubbie convention, I’m sure that’s just a coincidence.

I have that book...it was my first exposure to "Super Stretch" Sammon. I've since bought two of his other books, Misunderestimated and Strategery. All three of them were great reads.

My memory is that Registered created the Sore Loserman banner. I believe Registered also did the "Surrender Gorethy" written in the sky! Then, someone from here hired a banner plane.
The picture of the Surrender Gorethy was a FR classic. This past week the sky was such a deep blue and the clouds so white, I laughed and recalled that picture with my husband.

Correct. Then I marketed the crap out of it. And Free Republic got almost $20K in the next year’s fund raisers. I still have about 300 bumper stickers.
Memories......:)
