Our schools all used to have gun clubs too and kids always brought their guns to school for show.
We live in a dumbed down, sissified, nanny state.
Wow. Twas before MY time which is now 50+ years.
However, I do remember leaving high school and going out to my buddies truck in the parking lot of the school and heading right out to the Dove fields down south to hunt. Shotgun in the truck's rack. Also, there were then many more scholarships available for university Rifle Teams but some are still around even today.
