KATHMANDU, May 27 (Reuters) - The Nepali government warned on Tuesday that it could use force to throw unpopular King Gyanendra out of the royal palace if he refuses to leave voluntarily after the 239-year-old monarchy is abolished.A special assembly elected in April is scheduled to hold its first meeting on Wednesday and formally declare an end to the monarchy, a key part of a 2006 peace deal with Maoist former rebels that ended a decade-long civil war.
"The king must leave the palace immediately and move to the Nirmal Niwas," Peace and Reconstruction Minister Ram Chandra Poudel said, referring to Gyanendra's private home.
"If he does not leave the palace then the government might have to use force to vacate the palace," he said. "This will not be good for him."

Now that's an Orwellian title.
Anti-monarchy Maoists emerged as the largest party in elections to the 601-member assembly in April.
Yep, Orwellian.
Ah... I remember CNN reporting on the Anti-Monarchy demonstrations 2 years ago in Nepal, commenting that the Red Hammer&Sickle flags the demonstrators carried were irrelevant and that the Revolution will be one of peace and democracy!
I am just wondering what he will do then.
Get a job at McDonalds? There’s not too much of a job market for unemployed royalty.
I’m sure he has some Swiss accounts from which he can nicely live off the rest of his days in Exile. But let’s hope it doesn’t come that far. I’d hate to see another country turn Commie.
The best career choice would be to organise a counter-revolution in about ten years time (about how long it will take the Maoists to screw the country up so much that all but the insane and the ideologically brainwashed will oppose them)
I am not so sure about that. It’s not like he has done a bang up job in the “kinging” department. In fact, he’s been pretty much a jerk as a monarch.
Still, you may be right. The depth of the Marxists’ ability to screw up just about anything has never been plumbed.
Well, in ten years time the old boy may not be up to it in any event. Maybe his sons and/or daughters will take up the cudgels? (I dont know who they might be)
