wow, cool pic.. Thanks! adds a little scale to the thing..
Man, It’d be a hoot to take a ride around that thing at 225.. heck 200 would be plenty fast .. I hear the stands full of fans are just a blur .. or maybe I’d just settle for a ride on and view from the blimp. :-]

The Andretti vs. Rahall vs. Dannika as the new American Idol generation of drives. I think Im rooting for castronoves.

They open the track to regular cars to drive around it during the pre-race week. I don’t think they’d let you go 200 MPH in your SUV, but at least you could say you drove the track at Indy. If you’ve never been to the 500, it’s definitely worth puting it on your Christmas wish list.

Wow! That is one interesting graphic. At the risk of sounding naive, are the "map inserts" in proportion to the size of the track?

Hey all.
I gotta laugh, I have found 2 mobile shortwave stations covering the race from Indianapolis today. They wont let them in the race with all the Radio gear but they are xmitting from
outside and have a video link at the track.

He had the fastest car for the first few races, but Dixon has been showing the speed in the races and practice sessions recently. I’m going with Dixon, Wheldon, then Kanaan. Dixon on laps. Rahal first driver out.

I genuinely want to see this though...

Thanks for starting this thread. I just got home from church in time for the pregame festivities.
My dad took us to the race nearly every year from 1957 through 1968. Have only been able to go 2 or 3 times since then, but my family always knows that I get control of the TV set on Indy 500 day!
One of the “must do” activities for Mr. RightField and me (now that we’re retired) is attending the race at least once.
