[If we did somehow increase oil production, would we not need to build new refineries?]

Permits have been issued for a new refinery near Yuma, AZ. They do still have a few permits about local construction to obtain but I talked to a spokeswoman Friday and she was certain it would continue. I hope so!

In addition, there is a group looking to build a refinery near Elk Point, SD (about 15 miles from my sis’s house). Locals are being barraged by greenie lies, justt as they were in Arizona. Google “Elk Point Refinery”!

Let me point out something unique.

Here in Delaware, not far from my house in fact, we actually DO have a refinery.

Since it already exists, the local citizenry, with some hysterical help from the RINO contingent I might add, are jumping through hoops to SHUT IT DOWN! This charge is led, not that anyone noticed, by a local lawyer....aren’t they always?

Seems there’s a sort of hysterical mindset that this refinery is somehow causing cancer rates in the area to skyrocket.

The local politicos, including the Dems, have commissioned all sorts of studies and so far, beyond some subset of citizens in the ages of 70-80 for some unusual form of cancer or another, there is NO greater incidence of cancer in this area than any damn where else in the U.S.

Interestingly, should anyone choose common sense as an option, this part of Delaware has been populated by an older population; a population which would have higher incidences of cancer not that we should be logical about it.

And don’t forget, mine own congress critter, Mike Castle, is President of Main Street Republicans, a group supported greatly by the fine George Soros. You read this right, Castle is a Republican, Delaware’s ONLY congress critter in the House so small is our state.

Castle voted AGAINST drilling in Anwar. And I’d lay dimes to donuts the average Delawarian, even those in the liberal north, would be quite happy to drill in Anwar. Castle did not represent his constituency....Castle represented HIMSELF!

Which is my argument as to why the pubbies don’t fight back against drilling here in the U.S. because they are financed by oil poohbahs who don’t want US to drill on our own land. We might not buy as much oil from THEM if we had our own oil.

It’s as simple as that. Follow the money. The American people would, if given a chance and after hearing all the pros and cons, probably vote in droves for this country to begin pulling our own oil out of the earth.

So why are the pubbies so silent on the matter?

We got to rid of these guys. THEY are the cancer.

Oh, and now that I think about it, my heart was just fine before I moved near that oil refinery.

Heh.

Great News ! Thanks for the info, somehow I was under the impression, since we haven't built any new refineries in a long time, that the enviro wackos, put a stop to all new refineries, like they did with the drilling for oil..

I have a friend who works for BP, as a chemist there, he said most of this high gas prices is due to the many formulations on regional gas as well as the commodities market going nutz. Is he right?
