Wasn’t there an Indian tribe on Nantucket with blue eyes and “gray” hair?

I met a couple this morning from MA who are on their way to the Viking site at L'Anse aux Meadows. It's nearing a record year for icebergs off the coast of Newfoundland.

L'Anse aux Meadows is the first and only authenticated Norse site on this continent. It was first brought to worldwide attention in 1960 by Helge and Anne Ingstad, a Norwegian couple who had searched for years to solve the puzzle of the sagas.I was in high school in 1960 and remember the controversy over the discovery. Questioning the originality of Columbus's discovery was considered heresy of the highest order, especially by my Italian-American history teacher.

"Excavations have uncovered the remains of eight buildings that formed the settlement and these have been restored to their pre-dig condition." Is that a fancy way to say they were re-buried?
