At least he had the stones to go on a talk show that he knew wouldn't be friendly territory: How often do democrats go on Rush Limbaugh or Fox News?

McCain won't take a strong stand on marriage. I'm not holding high hopes for him on any other issue. He's a proverbial RINO.

McCain countered. “I just believe in the unique status of marriage between man and woman, and I know that we have a respectful disagreement on that issue; and I along with many, many others wish you every happiness.”

Agreed. This is what he must do during this election. The environment for Republicans is toxic.

McNut is right on the money in doing this.

Agreed. I think Republicans need to use whatever the media provide to get their message out, not by avoiding them and let them shape the opinion unchallenged. Yes, the MSM will try to edit the interview, but if they are prepared for such treatment, there are ways to prevent or to prove they’re being manipulated.

The good thing is he didn’t say something like what Obama said earlier today. Not even close.

McCain did good. He has never wavered on this that I’ve found. He has stood against special rights and “hate crimes” legislation also. If he maintains his stature on the issues like this he will earn the votes of conservatives. He just needs to make clear over and over again that while he is a strong supporter of legal immigrates and immigration that he believes in a secure border first.

He needs to never again use the false rhetoric that illegals do the jobs Americans will not. He could even go as far to recant his previous statements on this because he was proven wrong by long lines of legal Americans looking for jobs at meat packing plants after raids.

McCain needs to avoid these new age crap shows. He simply demeans the office he is trying to obtain.

First of all, if the homosexuals had any respect, they’d leave marriage alone.

But they have nothing but contempt for the “other sex,” and they show it by homosexual behavior. They have every right to enter into any kind of legal bonding that they choose, but they have to stick their thumb in the nose of the sacrament of marriage and PRETEND that they want to be married too.

They no more want to be married than the man in the moon, but they have a chance to make marriage filthy and sick by their constant pushing for “equality” in marriage, same as invading a Catholic Church and sacrilegiously soiling the Holy Eucharist.

Post 13. I wondered how long it would take for sanity to shine through on this thread.

McCain is simply trying to get his “base” lined up.

I think you both deserve honorable mention here for raising the point that going on this show in the first place was the first step downhill. Thanks.

Ellen DeGeneres is about to jump the shark again. When she first came out, she was a funny comedian and her sexual orientation wasn’t an issue. Then when ABC gave her own sitcom, she let it go to her head and it became nothing but a platform to promote homosexuality. She had a comeback of sorts, with a funny part in top-grossing animated film, and now her own talk show which even I watched and enjoyed some of the interviews. Now she’s pushing the gay marriage crap. Ellen, just stick to showbiz and stop promoting militant homosexuality that did Rosie in, OK?

A great part of the reason the environment is toxic is due to Republicans like McCain. Glad ya enjoyed the show.

>>>Why bother appearing on the The Ellen DeGenerate Show? \

The lynch mob asked the same question was asked last night in the same language. Repeating that answer:

Leaving aside the no-class name calling, Ellen’s show has passed Oprah’s as the highest rated daytime talk show. The bulk of the audience for such shows is the everyday heterosexual housewife. Such voters are Hillary’s main support, but this year by the Obamanites treatment of Hillary they may be more open to a different choice.

Bottom line is he has nothing to lose and at least the chance to gain much. Since it’s free airtime for the McCain campaign, it would take a real fool to pass up the forum to try to slice away some of the democrat women from Obama.

>>>McCain is simply trying to get his “base” lined up.

If his “base” is heterosexual housewives, oooookay.

Bottom line, McCain showed a lot of democrat voters he isn’t the boogeyman, and did so without surrender or compromising principles. How does that call for so much snark and sputtering?
