What has Hagee been saying of late?? I’m sorry but this is left wing journalism - basically trying to tie Hagee to McCain as payback for Wright/Obama. It’s a lose-lose and I don’t hold it against McCain.

I hate what the media is trying to do here. Hagee is not McCain’s friend and pastor.

What's so terribly offensive about quoting bible prophecy? A person would have to be searching very hard for a reason to be offended if he or she is offended by by Hagee's remarks. I can't cite book, chapter, and verse, but IIRC long before the New Testament Christan era the Jewish Old Testament predicted in more than one passage that Israel would be exiled, persecuted in foreign lands, and eventually return to it's promised land after wandering among the nations of the world for many centuries. Bible prophecy also says that God will use evil gentile nations and their wicked rulers to "afflict" the exiled Jews, and by so doing cause many of them to return to their ancestral land of Israel as a refuge from persecution. Isn't that exactly what happened when Hitler and his Nazi goons slaughtered 6 million European and Asiatic Jews, and as a result millions of Jews returned to Israel and established Israel as a sovereign nation again after 19 centuries in exile?

If I was looking for a reason to accuse a cleric of some religion other than my own of racial/religious prejudice because he referred to my Scots ancestors as having been persecuted by the English and sent into exile in America and northern Ireland after the battle of Culloden, I wouldn't have a legitimate cause to be offended because it would be the truth.

As for Parsley's remarks about militant Islam, anyone who doesn't believe that Islam is a warlike religion whose adherents are commanded by their "god" Allah to kill or enslave unbelievers who refuse to convert to Islam just hasn't read or been taught the truth about Islam's bloody history of conquest and forced conversion of conquered "infidels" on pain of death or perpetual enslavement. If that TRUTH offends Muslims then so be it. Are we supposed to ignore or cover up inconvenient facts just because we want a group's votes and those facts happen to embarrass that particular group of people? If a TV preacher had said that the religion of ancient Mayans that required priests to sacrifice hundreds of thousands of men, women, and children to stone idols was a cruel and bloody religion, would Central American immigrants accuse him of racism and say that he is lying about what are easily verified facts regarding their ancestors? Possibly, but I doubt that he would be lambasted with a storm of negative and misleading publicity from the MSM like Parsley and Hagee are receiving.

It's obvious to me that the Obama worshiping media is trying to create a serious rift between McCain and evangelical voters. And McCain fell for it hook, line, and sinker because he dooen't have a clue about Israel's history in exile and eventual restoration, it's prominent place in bible prophecy, or prophetic bible scripture in general. Not that he necessarily should have had a clue about religion oriented things that don't normally concern him, but as a practical matter he should have at least consulted with someone who does have a clue before summarily cutting his ties to two nationally popular and politically influential TV preachers. It is going to be hard enough to promote a RINO like McCain to very disappointed and disillusioned evangelicals without him unnecessarily rejecting two of their most popular leaders. IMHO, if McCain doesn't get the votes of a high percentage of the evangelical vote bloc that was crucial to every Republican presidential victory in the last 30 years, he has no chance of defeating Obamessiah in November.

“He may be a friend of Israel, but what about Jews? Where does he think they end up in the after life?”

Why would his opinion on that issue matter?

I agree. It's a religious opinion, not a political one, and therefore irrelevant to the campaign.

As a Jew, I am comfortable with my beliefs. Only the Big Man upstairs knows what will happen to me in the next world, and since I am in no rush to find out, I had better support any friend of Israel.

I just filled out my aliyah “guided application” and gathered the necessary paperwork.

Not signed, just sitting there, but I think it is time for me to go.

I hope you do get to go, at least for a visit, before they give away the rest of the store. I went in 2005 with a group from the Republican Jewish Coalition, and it was one of the most interesting and enjoyable trips I’ve ever taken. I look forward to going back (God willing!).

I’ve been a lot — Mrs. MWT is an Israeli citizen -— she wants to go back to care for her parents.

It was primarily ecomic reasons (like no job there -— not quite Abraham here willing to take a leap of faith) that prevented my going -— no longer an issue.
