Despite the protests of her husband, Michelle Obama deserves intense scrutiny. She may be family, but she is also at the top of her husband's list of advisors; perhaps no less important than Robert Kennedy was to his brother Jack.
She would be a key figure in a hypothetical Barack Obama presidency, her judgment relied upon when it's time to make decisions. We have the candidate's word on it. Didn't you read about it?
Perhaps not.
Unless you read Trumpet magazine, founded by Rev. Jeremiah Wright, you almost certainly didn't know about the candidate's view of his wife's role when he has to make decisions. Since his claim to superior judgment is a fundamental premise of his campaign, you might be interested in what he has to say about her judgment.

I hear she's been talking crazy on the campaign train.

One thing for sure...she has a very big mouth. May it come back to haunt her, for the sake of all we hold dear in America.
She LOVES to hear herself talk.
She love to tell others to NOT do what she and her husband did to get ahead.
Love to see and hear that tape of her speaking about white people from Wright’s pulpit. I read Rove has it.
How did you get that little excerpt about her judgment that is in the article? Do you have that copy of the magazine?
Oh, boy, do I sense another “co-presidency” in the making?
Is Barack Obama going to bring Michelle into the Cabinet Room and into all kinds of Oval Office sensitive meetings?
If she is truly his #1 go-to person for sound judgment it looks like she bears extra scrutiny. She is NOT playing the traditional smiling spouse waving to the crowd - she has repeatedly given policy-oriented speeches in which she says “Barack thinks....” and “Barack will require you to.....” She claims to speak FOR him and he says she is his #1 advisor, so the pretence that she can escape critical examination during the campaign is ridiculous.
Elitist.
Now that I have got it made, I’m telling all you little people not to go where I’ve gone, but stay down there at the lower level of society. Why, you ask? Easy...so you won’t become participants in the white man’s world in the US of KKK A. You must understand that THAT is who is oppressing you...
DUH.
SOMEBODY better call her to account and insist she answer for herself...

"Consider the moment leading up to Barack's career-making speech at the Democratic National Convention in 2004. The story the Obamas like to tell is that Michelle pulled Barack aside just before he took to the stage, warning him, 'Just don't screw it up, buddy!'
Someone who was involved in the preparation of the speech recalls a more nuanced dynamic, as Michelle calmed an irritable Barack. 'We were spending intense sessions tinkering with wording and commas,' the person says. 'It was pretty tense, because everybody was picking at Barack and making suggestions. He was getting a little irate. Michelle was in the room, and she was kind of handling both him as well as some of the speech."

Ron Carter, a former associate of the Black Panther Party who is the publisher of the South Street Journal, told me of a combustible situation that arose during Barack's senatorial campaign, following a speech he gave at Liberty Baptist Church, in Chicago. 'There were lots of radicals calling into question his loyalty to the community,' Carter recalled.
'She came out the back door, and there were a bunch of hoodlums ready to do a full-blast demonstration. She put on her street sense and asked all the guys, "Y'all got a problem or something?" They all froze, guys who would slap the mayor, who would slap Jesse Jackson in the face, even.'
I have a copy of the article. Also, see a new article by Kurtz:

Obama said that Michelle Obama tops his list of go-to people for sound judgment. I made an error in post no. 1 when I used the word “solid”.
