Real politik does explain part of the world's discomfort with Israel. The bulk of it though is plain old fashioned anti-Semitism. No body in polite company wants to say Israel is hated because its populated by Jews. But every one knows its the truth.

The Jews imagined that having Israel would make them “normal” now & “just the same” as everyone else. To their horror, now Israel is singled out as a pariah, all over again. Time to stop worrying about being “just the same” & worrying about being Jewish. Eff the world.
