Senator John McCain, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, on Friday is scheduled to meet with two Republican governors who have been prominently mentioned as potential running mates, according to Republicans familiar with Mr. McCains plan.
Charlie Crist, the governor of Florida, and Bobby Jindal, the governor of Louisiana, have both accepted invitations to meet with Mr. McCain at his home in Arizona, according to Republican familiars with the decision. One Republican said that Mitt Romney, a former rival of Mr. McCain for the presidential nomination is also expected to visit him this weekend. Mr. Romneys advisers declined to comment.

Yep, he will need Lieberman to whisper answers to him. With Crist, it would be a team of dumb and dumber. Though maybe this meeting isn't about VP. No matter whom he picks, people do not vote for VP. For me, it would make no difference whom he picks. While I might consider voting for him if he picks Ann Coulter, that will never happen.

Michael Steele of Maryland. Just dreaming of course. Whenever he is on FOX he seems a true blue conservative.

I’m a firebreathing anti-McCain extremist. But if he picked Sanford, I’d back the ticket without reservation. Not because I think McCain’s reign would be any less toxic, but ONLY because it would set up a real conservative for 2012. If it is a BS leftist like Lieberman, Huckabee, or that buttwiper Graham, I just may support Obama as revenge for that final knife in the back.

Given the nightmare Romney created in Massachusetts
(wipeout of Republican party and imminent bankruptcy
through the BigDIG he ignored, and his RomneyCARE-BIGdig)
the MSM hopes (prays?) McCain blows it and picks
Bishop Romney (then, stay tuned for polygamy stories every
night until November).

Mark Sanford of SC or Mike Rounds of SD are the logical choices for McCain. If he chooses either one of these two, I'd vote for him after consuming several shots of Jack's.
Jindal ought to be ashamed of himself. He needs to stay in LA and clean that state up. He's raw, he just got elected Governor. He has no business trying to be McCain's VP. Ditto for Palin, who needs to stay in AK and get some experience under her belt. FReepers need to lay off the Palin! or Jindal! meds.
If he chooses Crist or Perry from TX, you might as well stick a fork in the GOP
