WICHITA, Kan. Four Hispanic families are suing St. Anne's Catholic School over a policy that requires students to speak English at all times while at school.
The lawsuit, filed Monday, calls for an end to the policy and asks for an order barring similar policies at other diocese schools. It seeks the return of one student to the school who was allegedly kicked out for refusing to sign the "English only" pledge. And it asks for court costs and unspecified damages for discrimination and emotional suffering.

Catholic School=Private School, no one forced them to go there. Next ruling...
I don’t see what’s wrong with kids speaking their own language, as long as it isn’t in class.
America needs to draw a line in the sand and FAST, or this country will be lost forever. It may already be to late.
My poor country slides one step further toward the Davis-Monthan of empires.
And I don’t see what’s wrong with a private school setting the rules they see fit for their particular situation.

Neither do I.

Exactly! That’s why we insist on English here in the USA!!!
So, if these families don’t want to be Americans, the exit door is always open!!!
Always a bad decision to get anywhere near Federal money, if you value your freedom.
Tell me about it. We (not me) Catholics bend over backwards, get sermons about the 1% that love this country and want to assimilate, need more services for the alien, yada, yada, yada, and this is what you get. I’m sure they will yet again capitulate.
This is just demonstrative of the leftist claim that there is no such thing as The American Culture.
It’s much easier to dismantle something you insist doesn’t exist in the first place.
I agree, but I don’t think the church should be forced by government to restrict their rules on that topic. I think if it was a public school, the kids would have the choice outside of class. They are not being pressured to attend a private school.
It just sounds like a stupid rule to me. Besides, it seems like it would be an ideal situation for spanish language (or any foreign language) students to practice at lunch or recess.
I have a big problem with it. Students at the school my kids go to speak Spanish, Arabic, Farsi, and Swahili often and with ease, but they are struggling to learn English. If they were not allowed to speak their native language at school at all, they would be forced to use English in normal conversation with classmates. They would learn the language faster.
Liberals just trying to SUE their point of view into the fabric of our society. Forget majority rule....these no goods have nothing better to do than waste peoples’ time and effort. Its a private school....leave.
OK
its a private school...not a public one. what seems like a stupid rule to you is a good rule to others.
The problem is, we DON'T insist on English. There is no law declaring our national language, but there should be.
