Bush Plays the Hitler Card (by Pat Buchanan - sickening!)
Townhall.com ^ | May 20, 2008 | Patrick J. Buchanan

Posted on 05/20/2008 12:59:30 PM PDT by EveningStar

"A little learning is a dangerous thing," wrote Alexander Pope.

Daily, our 43rd president testifies to Pope's point.

Addressing the Knesset on the 60th anniversary of Israel's birth, Bush said those who say we should negotiate with Iran or Hamas are like the fools who said we should negotiate with Adolf Hitler.

See my post #39 and decide for yourself if Buchanan is competent to write about history. His claim in the forthcoming book is essentially an apology for Hitler and Nazi Germany.

PJB is right about a lot of things. He is also wrong on a lot of things. He is wrong on the issues raised in this article.

So any of you who actually read it do you have an actual logical disagreement to what was written

Are you frickin' kidding me? Yes, I did read the whole vomitous thing. It's utterly demented. Every word is a Hitler-worshipping lie.

In a nutshell, Buchanan claims that Hitler would have stopped at Poland

BS, apparently Pat has never heard of Zweites Buch.

Hitler had not wanted war with Poland. He had wanted an alliance with Poland in his anti-Comintern pact against Joseph Stalin.

Herr Buchanan is veering into David Irving / Ernst Zundel territory with this lie.

Hey rcocean, you still lurk here. Buchanan is a Nazi-sympathizing historical idiot.

And he lost an uncle at Auschwitz, as detailed upthread.

Sorry you had to go. But I guess you had to go. Pat Buchanan is a Nazi apologist who holds Jews in irredeemable contempt.

“BS, ...”

That’s too mild a term for what Buchanan is peddling. And insulting to bulls, as well.

Pat is 100% absolutely right. Just because people are biased or have certain politics doesn’t mean facts can be thrown out. No one confronts the facts of what Pat is saying.

W had no business taking American politics on foreign soil to launch attacks on fellow Americans. He also obviously twisted around the facts to fit his propoganda.

Can’t support wrong even if its from our own, in this case W.

Even before this little spate between Obama and W, I have been saying its foolish to close diplomatic channels. Its not just foolish, but insane.

In no way do W or McCain this debate. You can’t win this election by reling on Wright, Michelle and Mahmoud. No harm in trying but results would be disastrous to say the least. Nothing learned from 3 special election debacles.

No one confronts the facts of what Pat is saying.

Hitler was not looking for an alliance with Poland. That runs counter to all--ALL--of the historical documentation done since the end of the war.

Buchanan has taken a high dive into a very shallow pool. The best thing he could now do, is to retire to a secluded and distant place — and not be heard from again...

The President was not launching any attacks against fellow Americans.

What does Puke-cannon have to say about Jimmy Carter?

“Pat is 100% absolutely right.”

Then you are 100% absolutely wrong. Among other things, Buchanan is peddling inaccuracies about the run-up to WWII that even my 13-year-old knows are false.

Yours truly is normally a very devoted fan of PJB, but his absolute mischaracterization of the intentions of Adolph Hitler vis-a-vis Gdansk (Danzig) and the Sudetenland calls for the firmest rebuke. Pat, if you are reading this, please write a column correcting your errors. Apologies are optional.

Buchanan has his faults and his blind spots. Buchanan would put the country at risk by negotiating with Islamo-Fascists and his disdain for the state of Israel is well documented . But he WOULD NOT PUT the country at risk by being best buddies with Vincente Fox or whoever else is in charge of the unprecedented illegal invasion of this county by millions upon millions. Buchanan or Bush, who has the better foreign policy, looks like a Mexican stand off to me.

And not to forget that Hitler and Stalin cooperated long before the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact in 1939.
