A mountain lion stirred up some excitement near Flatiron Elementary School...
The 138-pound cat was shot once with a tranquilizer gun but then bolted ...
At 10:30 a.m., the cat was shot with another tranquilizer dart ...
Agents carried the cat to ...an Open Space park in west Boulder where it was released.
Wildlife officers said the cat is about 2-years-old and known in the neighborhood. The same mountain lion was in the same neighborhood last week. In that incident, the mountain lion was tranquilized, but managed to run away.
The cat also appears to have a high tolerance for tranquilizers.

You would not believe how many big game (mostly African stock) camps have sprung up here over the last 20 years, on really big ranches.
That cat is native to Africa... possibly it’s an introduced species.

I’ve heard of people putting food out for bears and then complain that they won’t go away.
So no doubt she’d be standing at her doorstep yelling “here, kitty kitty!”
They didn’t let the mountain lion loose in the Mayor’s back yard?

Deer Flags:
I read about this somewhere a while back and finally got around to trying it.
As you may know, deer signal danger to one another by raising their tails. So what the other deer sees is an isosceles triangle with the short side at the bottom.
To make a “poor man’s deer fence” simpply make a bunch of these triangles from white or beige fabric and hang a string of them where you want to scare the deer.
I used two parallel lines of string, but I am currently converting them over to shepherds crook hangers that I bought at the Dollar Store just because I want to be able to easily remove them when I am having company, since the set-up is not too attractive.
Anyway, I am happy to say that I actually have full grown hosta this year for the first time in 6 years!
I hope this works for you.

Catch and release does not work.
But it makes the liberals feel good.
The lion will return to the school several times per week.
Job security for the ALF DOW kids.
