Al-Qahtani reportedly was upset he faced murder and war crimes charges.
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - The alleged 20th hijacker in the Sept. 11 attacks tried to kill himself at Guantanamo last month, his lawyer disclosed Tuesday, saying the Saudi prisoner was distraught over a possible death sentence for charges later dropped by the Pentagon.
Mohammed al-Qahtani cut himself at least three times and had to be hospitalized at the U.S. Navy base in Cuba, attorney Gitanjali Gutierrez said.
Al-Qahtani made the suicide attempt after learning military prosecutors filed capital charges against him and five other Guantanamo prisoners for their alleged roles in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Teach him the right way to do it and put him back in his cell.
I have become so distraught over his situation that my tears have contaminated my keyboard. Who do I sue?
Man. This guy can’t kill ANYONE.
I cannot accept this injustice, the lawyer quoted him as saying. If I have to stay in this jail, I want to put an end to this suffering.
Really???? Show him some photos of the mortal remains of victims of suicide bombers. That may put a better perspective on HIS situation for him ... also, he may want to change his idea of ‘insustice’ and ‘suffering’
Bush/Cheney of course!
Distraught over a death sentence, so he tries to kill himself? Dude, we’re trying to help you. You’ll be dead before you know it. Hang in there!
If at first you don’t succeed...
Let’s see...a terrorist, who is trained in suicide attacks, tried to commit suicide. Never saw that coming.
To bad Al-squaty didn’t get ‘er done and save the taxpayer some green!....
Why?
The guy that killed one of my friend’s wife killed himself in prison the other day. How about that John Lester?
The funny thing is, Epstein only took 2 tries.
