Moderator’s note:This was the first real thread reporting the news today. It was locked for reasons that should be obvious to everyone by now. The Moderator who locked it is the level-headed Mod. I am the arbitrary and capricious Mod. If you choose to martyr yourself I am happy to oblige.

US Senator Edward M. Kennedy, the veteran lawmaker from Massachusetts who is the last surviving brother in the legendary Kennedy family, has been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor, his doctors said today.

Specialists in Boston and around the country said the information released indicated that Kennedy has terminal cancer and might have only a limited time to live.

Not taking pot shots at a man who will soon have to make right with his maker is the adult thing to do.

We don't dance on graves around here....

at least people with decency don't.

What is the prognosis for something like this? I know of one person who had brain cancer and died. And I know of another person who had surgery to have the tumor removed and then chemo, and is expected to be fine.

Death is man’s common denominator.

Regardless of one’s feelings about another human we all are mortal and will one day die.

I do not have to agree with Ted Kennedy’s politics to wish him a full and speedy recovery.

I pray God uses this to make Senator Kennedy face the truth, repent, and trust in Jesus Christ alone as Lord and Savior.

Wouldn’t wish this on anyone.

The brother of a friend of mine died last week from cancerous brain tumors. He fought the disease for five years.

He was a young husband and father.

Mr. Kennedy, his family and my friend will all be in my prayers.

Depending on where it is, this is often an operable condition. My mother had something similar over 20 years ago and they were able to get it all.

Unfortunately for someone as old as Ted and his questionable health once these cancers start popping up they keep showing up in various locations, even when it’s an entirely different cancer unrelated to the first.

While I agree with you completely, I'll just say that I hope his judgement day will take care of that and that we still treat him kindly. His time is near.

I’m certain that once the Senator and the family fully recover they will pray for each and every one of the posters here who are praying for them.
