BAGHDAD (AFP) US President George W. Bush has apologised to Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki over the shooting of a Koran by an American soldier near Baghdad, state television announced on Tuesday."The prime minister received an apology from US President George W. Bush on the incident of shooting of a Koran by a US soldier," Al-Iraqia television said.
US military authorities in Iraq have apologised to the local community west of Baghdad where the staff sergeant fired at the Koran during shooting practice on May 11.
The unidentified soldier, who pumped bullets into the Muslim holy book and wrote an expletive inside, has since been expelled from his unit and sent home.

There is a big difference between a gentleman and a chump. Bush is a chump. A chump takes his shoes off in a mosque 5 days after 9/11. A statesman would never have done so. Say what you will about FDR, but it would have been unimaginable for him to have visited a Shinto shrine 5 days after Pearl Harbor.
FDR wasn’t relying on the help of millions of Japanese to assist us against Tojo. The comparison is invalid.
unhnn...
I think his behavior is right
Hey George!!!!
DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME!!!!
If you’re going to open your mouth, here’s list of one-liners:
- The foundation of Obama’s foreign policy is appeasement, why is he complaining when his speeches are full of it?
- Americans should not appologize for their prosperity, they should teach the rest of the world how they can also achieve prosperity.
- The ‘Global Warming’ lie is just an elite excuse to deny prosperity for the poor of the world.
Lets not forget the destruction of Joseph’s Tomb in the West Bank city of Nablus and the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem when the palestinians defiled and occupied this holy and sacred Christian site for a month. Where was the outcry?
Strong horse, weak horse. Guess which one we look like when we make stupid apologies like this?
Does anybody, including George Bush himself, remember George Bush saying right after 9-11 “you’re either with us or against us”?
Do any of these politicians know what it’s like to live in the daily hellhole and danger of mortal combat and yet have to worry about some JAG or moronic politician safe at home in Washington looking over his shoulder question every move he makes?
Good. Some people think the way to victory is to unnecessarily offend people. They are wrong.
No. But then, we are better than they are.
Also, Bush is the one in charge of that soldier.
Or, after they lop the head off of a Christian?
What’s happened to the forum here? Where are the articles listed like we used to have it?
That’s it; a good sniper leaves no trace of his passing through. This was his big mistake.
Couldn't have said it better my self.
Is that what we're doing? Relying on Muslims to assist in the defeat of Islamofascists? Not working too well, as we have discovered with Muslim FBI agents refusing to tape terror suspects, and Muslim Arabic translators passing messages to terrorists (and...). Bush is a chump because he will never accept what any sensible person anywhere in the West can see: the war is with Islam. But his disgrceful mosque visit after 9/11 and this silly apology is nothing next to his efforts to promote Albanian Islam in the heart of Europe, and his browbeating of Israel to create a terror state for the sake of his own legacy.
Well he did know the attack was coming and that a war mobilization waas the only way to reapir the dammage his failed socilaist policies had done to an already depressed economy.
That about covers it.
Why? When did anyone EVER publicly apologize for burning, ripping, or otherwise destroying, a Bible?
That is what so many on this forum will never understand.
