Iran, specifically, he tells us spends so little on defense relative to us that if Iran "tried to pose a serious threat to us they wouldn't . . . they wouldn't stand a chance."

Did he really say that? If so, that would qualify as one of the most monumentally stupid statements of all time. How much did Al Quaeda spend on 'defense' relative to the amount that the US spends? What a totally irrelevant threat metric in the age of asymmetric warfare, with the very real prospect of death-worshipping barbarian cult members gaining control of doomsday weapons.

Does Obama believe that:

• 9/11 was "a serious threat" to the United States and to Western civilization, or
• 9/11 was simply a minor annoyance in the great scheme of things, or perhaps
• 9/11 was a heroic victory in the peoples' struggle against capitalist warmongers, American hegemonists, crusaders of all nations, and international Zionist bankers?

Hint: I'd bet that the latter is the closest to his true beliefs...

I’ll give him credit for being honest in his views.

They obviously have no fear of McCain, or Republicans overall, and are now looking to make the election into a powerful, liberal sweep of government. Conservatives are a waning power in their view, as are moderate libs.

They know that the real power will be in claiming a “mandate” on top of a stronger congressional majority.
They then can remake the state and the tax system with impunity.
