It doesn’t matter. Don’t you know that oil is going to be banned in a few years?

Just to show how misleading a 20% increase is. I increased the gas mileage in my motorhome 20%...I was getting 5 mpg, now I get 6 mpg (true).

Andrew Barnes, the Managing Director of Powertrain Technologies, expects that, in view of these results obtained at such an early stage of development, up to 25% improvement in fuel economy can be achieved in the near future. LOL, bring on the research funds. Hook it to a dyno and give me the results. The thing will get so hot it will melt under load.

The developers earlier estimated that up to 80% reduction in NOx and HC is possible.Airflow thru the engine is not throttled. I think this means more air flows thru the engine even at low power output. This is a great way to lower exhaust emissions as they are calculated as a fraction of the exhaust flow. Same emissions/more air = lower fraction.

A two or three percent change in demand or supply can dramatically affect prices in a tight market.

If you drive 200 miles a day in a taxi cab this is a substantial monthly savings.

Yeah, but remember every little bit helps. We've got to get to the 35mpg CAFE standard the Congressional Dolts passed recently and we'll need all the help we can get.
Look for Obama to mandate every car engine be replaced with a MUSIC 4-banger by 2011....that, coupled with turning the heat down to 65 in our homes, will solve all our problems.
Damn, but he's sooo smart.

But at what Dollar cost. I could increase the mileage in my 99 Silverado 5.3 from 12 to 16 mpg just by buying a new Diesel model to the tune of $35,000 plus my trade.
