Sen. Barack Obama ripped into a Republican ad today that targets comments made by his wife, Michelle, and called the GOP tactic "low class" and "detestable."
The senator and his wife discuss the race for the White House. The Illinois senator told "Good Morning America" that he expects hardball tactics from the Republicans if he becomes the Democratic presidential nominee.
"But I also think these folks should lay off my wife," he told "GMA" as his wife chuckled beside him.
Obama told "GMA" that he believes he will win a majority of the Democratic delegates once the votes are counted after Tuesday's primaries in Kentucky and Oregon. Obama is favored in Oregon while rival Sen. Hillary Clinton of New York is expected to win Kentucky.

The Republicans seem to have come to the same conclusion and a GOP Internet campaign in Tennessee has an ad featuring Michelle Obama's comments during the long Democratic campaign that "for the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country."
Michelle Obama was asked about the ad on "GMA," but her husband said, "Let me just interject on this."
"The GOP, should I be the nominee, I think can say whatever they want to say about me, my track record," Obama said. "I've been in public life for 20 years. I expect them to pore through everything that I've said, every utterance, every statement. And to paint it in the most undesirable light possible. That's what they do."
"But I do want to say this to the GOP. If they think that they're going to try to make Michelle an issue in this campaign, they should be careful. Because that I find unacceptable," he said.

I never go to Arianna’s site, or Kos, or those other slimy sites but I am going to assume no one there has any hesitation over attacking Mrs McCain. Or Mrs Bush for that matter. Not to mention Mrs Cheney. Or the elder Mrs Bush. And Mrs Reagan, and on and on....
The good news is that the first cracks are showing in the mask of the messiah.
Looks like Barry Obama just had a Chris Crocker-ish “LEAVE MICHELLE ALONE” moment.
Sorry, BH Obama, but potential first ladies need scrutiny. It is part of the game.
If she feels obliged to weigh in on matters of public discourse, she is open to public comment and criticism. Same with Saint Chelsea Clinton.
I’ve noticed that it certainly doesn’t take much to tick off a Muslim.
What tapes are you talking about?
Considering the vitriol spewing from their mouths the Obama family should know all about "low class" and "detestable".
“Barry is whinging on GMA....”
It is so nice to see that wonderful old word “whinging” show up now and then. We should set up some kind of protective organization ala the environuts, but ours would protect fine old words from becoming extinct.
Just a thought..........
Mr. Obama, you may want to consult with John F’n Kerry. You do not get to tell us what is fair game and what is not. You don’t get to set the rules of the game. You and/or your party set this campaign up to be all about race. Now you dare tell us what is fair game and what isn’t? Hey Barak HUSSEIN HUSSEIN HUSSEIN Obama STFU.
The couple is cunningly playing a variation of the "good cop, bad cop" routine. She says what he can't in the course of the campaign. If you criticize her, she takes the heat and he's been successful in the strategery.
Whatever she mouths, remember one thing......she's NOT speaking off the cuff like a ditz. She is a smart woman. Obama has a surprisingly-effective major league campaign going, and nothing is said by either Mr. or Mrs. Obama that isn't plotted beforehand or which isn't code for some segment of the voting public that he/she is attempting to woo, pander to or corral during a speech or interview.

Geez, Barry. I would have thought you would have learned in Chicago that, in politics, anyone and everyone close to a candidate is fair game. ESPECIALLY when that person is out doing speeches under your campaign banner and on your campaign committee’s dime!
If you ain’t prepared to accept the heat from the klieg lights, get off the stage now. Better yet, stay there and whine, so even the Kool-Aid drinkers can see what you’re really (not) made of.
His wife’s comments are relevant, so they should be discussed.
"Barack Obama will require you to work. He is going to demand that you shed your cynicism. That you put down your divisions. That you come out of your isolation, that you move out of your comfort zones. That you push yourselves to be better. And that you engage. Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual, uninvolved, uninformed." -- Michelle Obama
Initially, I thought Michelle Obama was an attractive woman. The more she’s around, the less attractive she becomes. Just cannot imagine her as FLOTUS. If he thinks the TN GOP ad was low class, he should have looked to his side to see REAL low class.
