Columbus Georgia Republican Party chairwoman Sue Everhart said Saturday that the party's presumed presidential nominee has a lot in common with Jesus Christ.
"John McCain is kind of like Jesus Christ on the cross," Everhart said as she began the second day of the state GOP convention. "He never denounced God, either."
Everhart was praising McCain for never denouncing the United States while he was being tortured as a prisoner of war in Vietnam.
"I'm not trying to compare John McCain to Jesus Christ, I'm looking at the pain that was there," she said.

I find it strange & contradictory that a
devout Christian (your words) would say something as blasphemous as this.
You can defend her till the cows come home, but I see her support of McCain as a big ole compromise....whether she feels comfortable with it or not.
She needs a reality check....or maybe needs to get out of politics... sit this one out.... and renew her mind......

eee, thanks for the second opinion. As re: McCain, PRESUMED nominee is still presumption, especially considering the stronger candidates in our stable who really didn’t get a chance yet to run.
I pray for a national humbling that comes from within humble hearts, lest one come that is forced upon those who will not humble themselves.
I pray that complacency be renounced, that the people get wisdom and hold fast to what is right and true, in Jesus’ Name amen.

It's getting surreal out there. Pretty soon it will be McCain, the Christlike crusader surging to save Santa from global warming with help from his band of illegals.

Sue Everhart must not know anything about Jesus Christ and maybe was thinking of Joe Christ. This should make SNL.
To: Just A Nobody
It was a very sober convention. At least 'til later.
Sorry, couldn't resist. ;-)
