Looks that way, huh? They want to co-opt the Dims goofy "change" slogan, and now there's this.
Thanks for alerting me. This is truly despicable. Just seems like more and more negatives stand in my way of voting for McCain, which, as of now I won’t but will be voting Independent(Bob Barr).
Blasphemy if you ask me.
LOL! Good one!
Good grief, give this woman a break. You sound like a bunch of demogogues or something. This is what she said:
“I’m not trying to compare John McCain to Jesus Christ, I’m looking at the pain that was there,” she said.
Granted, she went a little overboard in her support for McCain - his Vietnam experience, but she wasn’t making him a deity or something, for heaven’s sake.
She’s an airhead and someone gave her a mic.
Post your picture...
we already have a dose of your intelligence and maturity
*shakes head* How...unfortunate. Words just fail me.
No, thank you very much!
You may notice that I posted those exact comments by her.
That’s what most would call blasphemy. I don’t know where to begin with a moron like this.
"I'm not trying to compare John McCain to Jesus Christ,
Okay then......
BTW I don't think she was saying he's a deity, but she was comparing him.
ya know- I don’t like McCain a bit.
I KNOW Sue, personally!
She is a kind, classy, and a wonderful woman.
GA is a strong Republican stronghold. The GA GOP elected Sue because we trust her. I would put her honesty and integrity up against ANY STATE GOP LEADER IN THE COUNTRY!
ANY OF THEM!
She goes and talks to kids at hight schools about the values of the Republican Party. She tells them that we want them all to be successful. She tells them that they all WILL be successful. These kids don’t hear this. They only hear about why they CAN’T be successful.
As for supporting McCain- she has been given a a tough job. I wouldn’t want the job of having to support McCain. But she was elected by the Republicans of this state to do so, and she will do the best she can. Maybe other GOP leaders don’t want to talk about Jesus. But Sue always does. She is unashamedly a strong Christian woman.
I talked to her just a couple weeks ago— and she will be a guest on one of my radio shows (Madison Forum) within the next 2 months. When I called to talk to her about it- she spent a good 45 minutes on the phone with me- and not about politics, but about regular things that folks talk about with their friends.
I can call her at any time and tell her my concerns about the party or the candidates, and she is always gracious and empathetic. She works very hard to get GOOD Conservative folks involved in the process.
When you all have a GOP leader like her— or like Scott Johnson (Cobb County GOP Chairman)— let me know! These are folks I can talk to- at anytime- pray with- and be proud of.
UNLIKE the politicians that foolish voters keep sending back to their corruption. You don’t like McCain? Blame Arizona. Blame the states that voted for him....but don’t blame Sue.
Saturday was our District Convention. The outgoing chairman's final words were: "Beat the Bush's for McCain."
After a collective groan and a yell from a vet, he fell all over himself trying to say he didn't mean it that way, but admitted he had been a McCain guy since 2000.
As we arrived supporters were passing out stickers for the various races in the district and state. The lady in front of me said, "Oh Gilmore! I'll take one of those." When they handed her the sticker it had the Mccain name and logo above Gilmore's name. She said she would just tear off the McCain part. I said I would do the same, then we were informed they had Gilmore only stickers. We both took those. I saw the McCain part ripped off laying on the floor a few times.
I don't think I saw a dozen Mccain stickers all day. Only the party elites seemed to support him. It was a very sober convention.
THAT IS UNCALLED FOR!
unreal.....
for the first time since I have known you— you have lived up to your name.
It was a Republican Convention...
As a former GOP state official, and a former Republican now for that matter, my advice to Sue would be to resign . Not because of these careless and foolish comments, either. Simply because John McCain is going to be the nominee.
While I wouldn’t term this a defense of McCain, I will say that there is generally at least one dim bulb in everyone’s closet.
In my church, in my home and in my heart, there is only one Jesus Christ and no human in world history can be compared to Christ.
that is great!! I am glad to hear it...
then you understand that your comment was very unChristlike.
Sue is a devout Christian woman.
You also know that we are told that the world will know us by the way we (Christians) love one another.
I don’t like what she said— I know that this doesn’t show her in her best light. Can you imagine giving speeches every week— and the only thing posted on FR is the weakest thing you said all year?
She is a good and honest woman— and there has been plenty of corruption in this party— I hate seeing her have to support McCain... I HATE IT! But we have all had to do things in our jobs that we didn’t like....
at least I know she is honest, and real, and available to us.....
