I do not know what got into the Army in the 1990s, but they promoted some useless people into the flag officer corps. M/G Batiste is another one who amazes me. He bitched about Rumsfeld, but he never offered, or was never asked, why the five or six generals between him in Rumsfeld were ignoring his requests.
There are corporals out there who have more leadership and more sense of responsibility than Sanchez and Batiste.
Sanchez's incompetence has been proven by the success of Petraeus and Odierno. He knows it, and instead of fading away, is reacting defensively. He looks a fool. He had no control but Petraeus and Odierno do? Or are Petraeus and Odierno simple puppets like Sanchez, and the Gates is a better string puller than Rumsfeld? You gotta be kidding me.
Rummy may have made many mistakes, but he was spot on in realizing the problems in the Army leadership (the main reason he pulled Schoomaker out or retirement to be the CSA).
Sanchez and Bremer are two of the main culprits who almost lost us the WOT. But Rummy also bears much of the blame.
It’s hard to dump on the General though magellan, this is just a small bit of what happened, from admittedly a General who a less then successful time in Iraq, but I also think that Bremer and Rumsfeld had issues as well.
He’s dirty.
If you don't retaliate or respond at all, isn't that like being afraid to even SHOW UP for a fight? Oh, that would REALLY scare them.
Whereas, if you at least inflict some pain and losses on the other party, he knows he won't get a free-ride if he messes with you again. [No, I'm not a General, but had a lot of street fights as a kid. We do require that Generals have juvenile "street fight" experience, don't we?]
The folks who wrote the blurbs on his book are the Clintoon, CNN crowd.
The bulb burns dimly........
First of all, the article is correct.
Secondly, you know nothing about this man.
I worked for him at one time.
This is the usual mean-spirited vile, uniformed crap you folks put out concerning people you know nothing about.
