Record Obama Crowd, the Size of a City By Matthew Mosk
PORTLAND, Ore. -- Sen. Barack Obama has seen his share of large crowds over the last 15 months, but his campaign said they have not approached the numbers gathered along the waterfront here right now.
The campaign, citing figures from Duane Bray, battalion chief of Portland Fire & Rescue, estimated that 75,000 people are watching him speak.
The scene suggests this is not an exaggeration. The sea of heads stretches for half a mile along the grassy embankment, while others watch from kayaks and power boats bobbing on the Willamette River. More hug the rails of the steel bridge that stretches across the water and crowds are even watching from jetties on the opposite shore.

There is something creepy about this kind of thing if you ask me.
75k with nothing better to do on a Saturday afternoon. Must be democrats
I think we should avoid hyperbole, particularly the tired old Nazi references, as it makes us look paranoid or scared of a nationwide landslide in favor of Obama, which is NOT what a large crowd in downtown Portland portends.
Hillary's fans in Kokomo, Ind. were also quite supportive...:)
‘..This worrisome...’
This is very worrisome. Do these people not truly listen to the ‘nothing’ that Obama says; have they not read some of his past comments in his own books which deserve examination about his feelings toward white people; are they not skeptical that Obama NOW wears an American flag pin on his lapel; do they not question how Obama who claims to be a uniter could attend a Church, with his young children, where a Pastor preached hate toward America and white people..... how can you hope to end racism when you allow young childrent to be indoctrinated???
And, is the Republican Party being proactive to educate Americans re what will actually happen IF one of the Democrats is elected? ALL of us, not just the “rich” will be affected by tax increases; who will pay for Obama’s ‘Global Tax’ on America for the World Food Program ...and on it goes.
God help America.
It is Oregon. The state is a socialist paradise. They are all looking for a government Messiah.
We got our own Juan Peron, folks, and he’ll be hard to beat. I’d long suspected it’d come to that, why should be be immune to the Peronista rhetoric?! (Recall that before Juan came along, Argentina was a very prosperous country.)
Beam me up, Scotty. There’s no intelligent life down here.
The universe itself keeps on expanding and expanding
In all of the directions it can whizz
As fast as it can go, at the speed of light, you know,
Twelve million miles a minute, and that’s the fastest speed there is.
So remember, when you’re feeling very small and insecure,
How amazingly unlikely is your birth,
And pray that there’s intelligent life somewhere up in space,
‘Cause there’s bugger all down here on Earth.
Was Hitler able to stand up and salute while steering that Mercedes at the same time!!?
Drudge hates Hillary number 1.
maybe he hates McCain?
Obama is the messiah to a lot of lost souls here abouts with his talk about “Change”...they ain’t listening to him, they are reacting emotionally and filling in the blanks. But, you have to admit that the Rats are sure adept at mobilizing tons of bodies for the cameras. And my tagline seems evenmore prophetic now more than ever.
More than forty million tuned to his weekly broadcasts during the 1930s. This radio program included commentary about Jews that was widely regarded as antisemitism, as well as rationalizations of some of the policies of Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini ... His chief topics were political and economic rather than religious, with his slogan being Social JusticeCoughlin saw himself as both a defender of the laborer, and an enemy of the industrialists, and warned about the concentration of wealth in the hands of the few. ... In a radio survey more than 55 percent named him the most useful citizen of the United States politically in 1933 and more than 20,000 people waited to here him speak at New York Citys Hippodrome in November 1933. ... "at the height of his popularity, Father Coughlin had a greater share of the weekly broadcast audience than Howard Stern, Rush Limbaugh, Paul Harvey and Larry King combined."

And today ... a crowd the size of the whole population of a fair sized city came to greet the Great New Man, Obama.
Reminds me of the crowd Hitler drew, well at least according to the pictures I’ve seen, anyway.
a military coup may be the only thing that can save us.
