Gee! I was going to say that the remarks seemed almost identical to G.W.B’s. Now I know why.

There is nothing to rebutt, Friedman makes the allegation in one sentence then never backs it up with examples.

I will say that if President Bush had said those things, the fact is, he never moved to implement them, so it seems a bit of a null argument.

It seems too silly to deserve rebuttal.

Does Hussain have similar views on Israel as those expressed by W?

Friedman is a putz. The reason why American Jews (or anyone) shouldn’t vote for Obama is because he attended a marxist anti-American, Anti-Israel, Anti-White church for 20 years and did NOT leave the church when Farrakhan was given an award.

Farrakhan did endorse the guy, one would think there must have been some reason for that and the lifetime achievement award that the TUCC’s “trumpet” magazine granted Farrakhan...

I agree with everything you say. However is the article true?

“But what matters a lot more is that under Mr. Bush, America today is neither feared nor respected nor liked in the Middle East, and that his lack of an energy policy for seven years has left Israel’s enemies and America’s enemies — the petro-dictators and the terrorists they support — stronger than ever.”

Ask Osama if he fears America Tom. Oh that’s right, you can’t because he’s hiding in a cave. Oh and Tom, Bush’s energy policy was blocked by the Democrat filibusters.

Friedman has BSD.

It is a nice try but Obama the racist does not have anything but appeasement in his vocabulary

Pssst. Have you heard? I have.

I heard that Thomas Friedman once kissed the same Saudi butt cheek that was pressed up against W's lips.

Maureen Dowd is off today.

Too bad. Her article couldn't have been much worse than this NYSlimeBall. At least we could have seen CZJ pics.

I do believe GWB has favored a two state solution since 2000, as was mentioned earlier though, once the PA and Hezzies and Hamas went nuts, he never tried to implement one.

And compensation is a different cat altogther then right of return, which would eliminate Israel demographically.

Pssst. Have you heard? I have. I heard that Barack Obama once recited the Adhan in Arabic and said it was "one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset." Yikes! Yikes! Yikes!

But wait, yikes aside, that happens to be true...

Obama: Man of the World
By NICHOLAS D. KRISTOF

Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to
prayer, reciting them with a first-rate accent. In a remark that
seemed delightfully uncalculated [...], Mr. Obama described the
call to prayer as "one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at
sunset."

As in they would be offered compensation, not a return to Israel proper. GWb and Olmert both did not say that there would be a right of return, only a discussion of it, and the prefered path was compensation, not reimporation.

From later in your link:

“...a different setting, also on January 10, Bush, somewhat elusively, stated his belief that “we need to look to the establishment of a Palestinian state and new international mechanisms, including compensation, to resolve the refugee issue.” Is the “right of return” to be one of those new international mechanisms?....”

Clearly the idea is to pay them, I doubt that would do very much good of course.

The “Two State” thing is fast becoming as generic as “move the US Embassy to Jerusalem” as the throw away line for the region, no whether or not that is likely to become a reality under Obama or indeed, under McCain is up to the individual to decide.

For me Obama seems the more likely person, Democrat Congress and he is a man of the Intl Left with a eurocentric view, and Israel is the current whipping boy of that view.

McCain..”might”..I don’t know Mad Jon’s politics concerning Israel well enough to comment on which way he would go.

What I find the most disheartening is Olmert’s pariticpation with GWB, that man should have lost his office two years ago IMO.
