Really not sure what your standard is but I hope you are around when Castro is on his sick bed and people on this site are dancing around it.

I'll second that, I wouldn't want to be a Moderator on this thread right now. Still, you have to admit that the Freepers here are, in general, light years ahead in terms of general class, taste, prayers, etc, over the vile, demented cretins at DU.
We all know how DU has reacted each and every time a conservative or Republican leader/icon (<-- notice how I separated the two? Yeah, it was intentional...especially these days) has fallen ill or passed on. The level and depth of hatred and venom coming from there should force every Freeper to go the extra mile to be tasteful.
I know I struggled on a prior thread to be tactful and gracious (but that was one of the threads that ultimately got pulled).

Given his history, it could have been an alcohol withdrawal seizure and have nothing to do with a stroke. We’ll have to wait for the statement from the hospital.

It's dramas like this that makes Drudge
live for that little screen. I bet he wouldn't go whitewater rafting without a Panasonic Toughbook and a Sprint Aircard....LOL

It ain't censorship when a private website upholds its own basic standards. This isn't the time or place for this stuff. Amen

Listen. If this were President Bush and he were in potentially grave condition because of a stroke, would you want posts concerning his immigration policy yanked or no? As Laura and others were facing his incapacitation would you want folks bringing up all of the policies they disagree with him on? How about former President Bush? Would this be the time for people to harp on him not finishing Saddam off? We aren’t saying there isn’t room for complaints about Kennedy. We are saying now is not the time to air them. That’s all.

This is a thread about a medical emergency. Most of us have experienced such know that they are horrible times.
There are other threads to vent about what people think about Ted’s politics.
Where are Freeper’s good manners?
To: RummyChick
There was absolutely NOTHING wrong with her post. You are quick with the delete finger.Last warning. If you keep this up, the thread will be locked. This is a volunteer job and I'm spending a fine Saturday babysitting. Don't ruin it for the other posters because you can't get over yourself.
To: COUNTrecount
However you may feel about Ted Kennedy or his politics, as Christians we are supposed to pray for and love our neighbor.
Almighty and Eternal God,
You are the everlasting health of those who believe in You.
Hear us for Your sick servant
for whom we implore the aid of Your tender mercy,
that being restored to bodily health,
he may give thanks to You in Your Church.
Through Christ our Lord.
Thy will be done
Amen

We're trying to keep this thread up.
I understand the desire to keep it all respectful and decent - but it makes for a boring thread, especially since it's about osmeone we have common feelings about - but cannot express them. Might as well not even have this thread then...

I’m sorry, I wasn’t calling you that. I was just explaining what the acronym “PITA” stood for.
