Just a note: This a site for Conservatives who may or may not be Republicans. In case you are confused.

I can understand your dismay. I used to be you. I was a loyal and persistent Bushbot, and I often was not very nice to those conservatives who did not like him.

I have more sympathy with them now. I used to laugh at them and call them "one percenters".

It would seem that their line of reasoning now appeals to somewhat more than one percent.

Go to that RNCC web site and read the party talking points they are selling. Then tell me that these are the guys who will hold back the socialist tide.

Mr. Cole,

I am a frequent poster to Free Republic and I spent several hundred hours working for the re-election of George Bush in 2004, unfortunately I must now say much to my regret. It is now unmistakably apparent that you do not understand that people know how best to run their own lives if only the federal government would get out of the way to let them do so and quit taxing them to fund the creation of yet another worthless blue ribbon committee. You refuse to advocate the principles of self determination and self reliance and instead propose yet another government solution. While the short term consequences will be distinctly unpleasant, it will be with great joy that I wake up to an increased Democrat majority in the House and a filibuster proof majority in the Senate on Wednesday November 5th, 2008. With President Barack Hussein Obama sitting in the Whitehouse and steamroller majorities in both houses there will be no escaping the consequences of their actions when the 2010 and 2012 elections roll around. By that time all of you you lukewarm, Rockefeller, plaid pants, country club Republicans will have been discredited and removed from the “Parliment of Whores” and we can get on with the serious work of rebuilding the United States of America.

Many GOP leaders are keenly aware of their deficiencies and the need to re-examine, re-tool and re-engage with the base. I’ve heard literally dozens of mea culpa talks from GOP leaders, and we’ve had plenty of back-seat advice from folks like Newt.
ANother one:
“will not contribute to any party or organization who’s direction is 180 opposite of mine. The members of the GOP in DC need to speak up immediately each and every time a Dem spouts their venomous lies on the floor of the House or Senate, the Capital Steps or nightly news. Take the gloves off. Enough of this PC bullshit. Stop backing down. Stop pulling your punches. Our Elected Republican’s have always let the Democrats and media walk all over anyone or idea that even sounds conservative. In the very beginning of the Clinton era, the liberals perfected the technique of Spin, Deny, Lie Lie Lie and Repeat Repeat Repeat until the masses believe what they are spewing is the truth. Never have the elected Republican’s, as a group, stood up and refuted the crap the liberals shove down America’s throat each and every day. When I try to enlighten my Democrat friends who believe the lies that come out of DC by giving them some facts and documentation which proves that they have had the wool pulled over their eyes, misled or lied to, more often than not I get the reaction of “O my God, I never knew that” “Where did you find this information?” “How come Action news never tells us this stuff?”. I’ve helped convert a dozen or so, but it’s like spitting into the wind because I live in a area that is a Democratic cesspool, and I must be out numbered by a thousand to one. We live in an age of perception and as long as the GOP allows the DNC to set the table and the voters to perceive conservatives as the cause of everything that is wrong with this country and nothing more that a bunch of mean, rich white guys who only care about God and money, our party’s future and the future of our country is on a very fast downward slide. It’s long past time for Conservatives to hold their ground, stand up and speak the truth loudly and often about what’s going on in this country and who and what are the true causes for the mess we all find ourselves in.I Don’t care too much for McCain and his stand on the 1st and 2nd Amendments, Amnesty or the Global Warming Hoax, but he’s better than Clinton or Obama. Not voting or voting for other than McCain would be like biting your nose off to spite your face.

RJ Balint
Ewing, NJ “

It’s past time to get back to that common sense, common ground fight against the *real* political enemy, the leftists in the Democrat party. There are many many forces of power that are dangerous to our freedoms.

One definition of insanity is letting the most liberal Senator in the Senate get elected and expecting that to be a win for conservatives.

Ah, constructive “how to improve things” is “boring” while emotional venting is ‘interesting’. Never mind that it sheds no light, you like the heat.

Never mind that the Democrats are ruining the country daily from their roost in the majority of Congress, we need to have another flagellation over the sins of the GOP Congress that passed away 18 months ago.

“People left with no options to tend to lash out, like a cornered animal. “ No. Rational people can speak rationally, while emotional childish people react in such manner. Boring facts are often not found in rants because the complexity of truth would blunt the emotional resonance.

These are all perspectives, and if people feel emotion for whatever reason so be it, but you have a curious lack of curiosity for solutions that are best for USA and conservative unity, and a curious desire for only those emotions and views that would, to me at least, harm both.

“Chastising them for it and saying they need to ‘calm down’ is pointless” I agree. With 4 children of my own, I know that telling a child that they are behaving childishly is pointless. Nevertheless, I wont be blackmailed out of calling a spade a spade.

I agree with you on everything EXCEPT immigration reform.

It should be enforced as is, period. No tears, even your foreign freinds who came here illegally must face the inevitable - GO BACK HOME!

Tom Cole’s post reads like it was taken right off the Democrat Party’s web site. It’s more of the big government, nanny state, crap that cost the party the majority in both houses of congress and will probably cost them the presidency.

Lee Atwater once said, “You can’t out Democrat a Democrat. You don’t win elections running on a Me Too agenda.”

Conservatives better take the party back from the liberals who are running it or the party is doomed.

One definition of insanity is letting the most liberal Senator in the Senate get elected and expecting that to be a win for conservatives.

An even better, more accurate (and relevant) definition of insanity is: "Any political party either genuinely believing that the voters 'need' them more than they need the voters, or else acting as if they believe it."

This will all mean a good deal more to you on the morning of November 5th than it does right now, I assure you.

OUTSTANDING letter! If there's any justice whatsoever left in this life: it'll make at least one pair of NRCC eyes pause... blink... and head back for a slower, more careful re-read! ;)

BWAHAHAHAHA!!

“John McCain has taken great pride in developing a reputation as someone who enjoys sticking his finger in the collective eyes of conservatives. Well, as one of those conservatives, I have a message for him and the rest of the NRCC that uses one of my fingers. I only regret that you can’t see it here.”

Check THIS out for purest, unadulterated rage:

You deserve to lose and you will. You stand for nothing. [...] You are wealthy, totalitarian elitists. We already have a party full of those. We may have the Bolsheviks in power this November, but we will send you spineless weasels back home to live in the slop you created. Juan McAmnesty is a great nominee for such a putrid failure of a party. Take him and go jump off something high.

This is fun...

“One more former Republican here - I have never seen a bigger bunch of ******* in my life.

Unfortunately, it seems the only party with the will to fight are the communists - I mean, Democrats.”

700+ now, and barreling steadily towards 800... with (at absolute most, mind!) three, maybe four pro-McCain, pro-NRCC comments, max.

Evidently, we're nowhere nearly as "fringe" or "unrepresentative" of other conservatives, nationwide, as Team Juan's online apologia squadron continually brays. ;)

It certainly is comforting.

Did you get a load of the moron saying that everyone posting was a Dem plant?

Wonder what his FReeper name is?

Those posts are too full of rage and vitriol, as well as GOOD solutions, to be from leftists.

comments on the blog that are pointless bashing drivel are not ‘wisdom’. It’s says mroe about your mindset than about reality.

Keep right on insulting members of the angry and disaffected conservative voting base, by all means. Spit out that their genuine, most heartfelt social and/or political concerns are "pointless," or "drivel"... and make absolutely certain they can actually feel your seething, contemptuous scorn for them as voters; as conservatives; as countrymen; and (most essentially) as people.

It's costing you so dearly in campaign donations, both individual and from the business community, the Republican candidate has no option left open to him but to meekly accept matching federal funding... whereas The Magic One, in the meantime, is pulling down between 40 and 80 million in online donations alone per MONTH.

Oh, yeah... and: the Republican party is 0-for-3 thus far this electoral season, even in what were (formerly) regarded as being reliably "safe" seats.

But: you go right on with the whole "open, naked loathing thing," do.

Why stop at simply shooting off the stray, sockless toe or two... when, with just the eensiest li'l extra bit of effort: you can blow the top of your own electoral skull clean off?

Not my problem, either way. Not anymore.

My serious concerns are what are conservatives truly supposed to do next after both the Fairness Doctrine is fully implemented by both the next President and the next Congress and illegal immigrants throughout the U.S. are not only allowed amnesty “to the max”, but are also legally allowed to vote in all future U.S. elections? How does “U.S. conservatism” truly and successfully recover from the full enactment of these two terrible things? Truly abolishing a political ideology is a very dangerous and very stupid thing to do, and the U.S. is truly on the verge of totally eliminating all of “U.S. conservatism” forever!

I’m not bothering to even respond to them anymore. Falcon is my home from now on.

Once these candidates destroy the US economy we'll all be living in Ford Falcons.
