RIYADH, Saudi Arabia - The White House said Friday that Saudi Arabia's leaders are making clear they see no reason to increase oil production until customers demand it.
President Bush was in the oil-rich country to appeal to King Abdullah for greater production to help halt rising gas prices in the United States.
But his national security adviser, Stephen Hadley, said Saudi officials stuck to their position that they already are meeting demand.

The Saudis, whose rulers are in place until death, know full well that Bush’s time is short and his power (thwarted at every turn by the likes of Nancy Pelosi) is weakened.
They’re playing with us, and there’s not much the average citizen can do about it, as long as sheep insist on installing liberal socialists in office.
Save Oil. Bring all of the troops home. From Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Germany, and Japan. House then in “mothballed” air force bases and army bases.
Bring the navies home to protect only our borders.
Fly all of the planes home.
Lets see how folks react to that.
F’em.
What makes you think a hit on Iran would get McCain elected?
You are ABSOLUTELY right about what you say. Unfortunately, now that the Polar Bears have been listed as “endangered” - which they clearly are not - obtaining permits to drill (”greenhouse gases”) will be virtually impossible to get and thereby making it virtually impossible to drill for oil in Alaska - even if we had the chance. But NOOOOOOOOO, we have to use Saudi Arabia and the towel-heads. God forbid we use our OWN resources!! What are we? Mad?
Gasoline rationing could make that work. Too much joyriding anyway. Kids should be home hitting the books not out in their pickup trucks getting into trouble all night.
Drill Our Own.
I agree!!! It would also be a good idea if we would encourage the building of about 100 coal to liquids plants, too.
I couldn’t have said it better.
Thats not just sad...its very scary.
Our town is spending $1.3 million this year on a study to do just that. Won't be cheap, but both wind and solar are out of the question, which wouldn't be cheap either.
Screw the Saudis and the camels they rode in on.
Why should the House of Saud increase their production? They’ve got something everyone wants and they’re charging what the price will bear. It’s the American way.
Dear, God. I'd never thought of it until now, but if the Saudis be buying, everyone knows that the Chinese be sellling...and cheap.
Right on target and we are running a nominee right now who will do nothing about it.
The Chinese are busy digging out their dead. They will be busy for a few days and won’t be able to sponsor world terrorism on such a grand scale.
While I am sorry for the loss of life in China, in light of what a huge country China is, their leaders in Beijing, no doubt, view so many deaths drily and mostly with personal indifference.
The price of oil is Bush’s hostage crisis.
China has no shame: Sudan, Venezuela, Iran, Nigeria so Saudi Arabia would be a step up. As far as terrorism, they will only be taking our place so whatever we did they’d be doing.
If Saudis call, China will probably leave them buried and re-run the same “Chinese glorious Army saving lives” footage on all their stations
Any action in Iran will get protracted just like Iraq and the voters will be faced with that as the overriding issue. Pitting a man with actual combat experience in uniform against a man with street rally experience in Chicago, the choice will be a no-brainer.
They will by russian garbage then to defend themselves. While its bad for our defense corps its good for the Israeli’s which
pretty much owned the new air defenses the syrians bought off the russians. The syrians and I would suspect the iranians wouldnt know if the US or Israelis were coming until things started blowing up on the ground.
