What UnitedforSurrender misses to mention is that the Bill contained pro-illegal pork and a date for withdrawal. Bush threatened to veto this bill. The 132 Republicans rightly abstained from voting, because this was a bad bill, but didn’t vote “no”, because it would have been a Democrat propaganda victory. The Democrats that voted against this bill are those who pander to the moonbats, while those who voted yes are the weasels who fund the war, but want a date for surrender.
We need a clean bill.
That legislative legerdemain became the plan's undoing. Rather than go along, 131 House Republicans voted "present" on the war funding provision, saying they were incensed that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and a few of her lieutenants had drafted the bill in secret, then expected them to play along.
"It was a political scheme. We wanted to expose it, and we did," declared House Minority Leader John A. Boehner (R-Ohio).

Pelosi is dispicable...playing politics with our soldiers. For shame!
The rat is after all a decidedly loathsome creature.
