May 15, 2008 Reid Rejects President's Reckless And Irresponsible Remarks Calls on President to Explain Inconsistency Between Administration Actions and His Words Today
Washington, DCSenate Majority Leader Harry Reid made the following statement today in response to President Bushs remarks before the Israeli Knesset:
Not surprisingly, the engineer of the worst foreign policy in our nations history has fired yet another reckless and reprehensible round. More than seven years into his Presidency and in the sixth year of the directionless Iraq war, President Bush has yet to learn that his brand of divisive partisan rhetoric is precisely what has made America and our allies less secure. And for the President to make this statement before the government of our closest ally as it celebrates a remarkable milestone demeans this historic moment with partisan politics.
President Bushs own actions demonstrate that he believes negotiations at the right moment, under the right conditions and with the right leaders can both show strength and produce results. He has relied on negotiations with North Korea and Libya, two state sponsors of terror. And by conducting discussions with Russia, China, Libya, North Korea and Iran in recent years, President Bush has demonstrated his belief that negotiations can be a tool to advance America and Israels national security interests. I call on the President to explain the inconsistency between his Administrations actions and his words today.

The Republicans are Class A ball.
Dingy speaks, and baby birds fall right out of the sky... dead.
Does Harry actually BELIEVE that his is the voice of reason? (raucous laughter)
Hmmmm, the shoe seems to fit and the ox appears to be hurting. Go go GWB!
Bush could say “the sky is blue” and reid and iron head pelosi would put out a press release decrying Bush’s irresponsible use of the visible spectrum. This is so lame. I wonder if they even have the courage of their convictions, or is this a complete political stunt. Wait, I know the answer to that...
The irony and hypocrisy within this statement is breathtaking.
Not one word of support from any Republican on Capital Hill.
The silk pony may have the hair, but Harry is the whining champion. Who else to better represent the party
And they wonder why they are going to get their ass kicked in the fall.
Except for Roosevelt,Truman, Kennedy, Johnson, KARTER,and Klinton. In fact the Dumbocrats have been on the wrong side of policy since the Civil War.
Pathetic press release. It fails to describe what Bush said that was so offensive and wrong.
The Libs have been issuing statements of indignation about this all day. That only happens when the statement they’re indignant about is 100 percent true.
And, I reject Reid as an idiot unable to muster the intellectual capital to buy a vowel, Pat...
You noticed that too, eh?
I'm starting to hate this republican party worse than the democrats. At least the dems have tenacity. The republicans have nothing. When it's all over, the blame for what's happened to this country will be squarely on their shoulders.
These modern Democrats are so slimy and sinister that they make their supporters appear to be ignoramuses and moronic chumps.
Their hubris hopefully will be their downfall, but I think that they have probably judged their base correctly.
President Bush should speak plainly more often. He’s been to nice over the years and what good did it do? No, you can’t coddle the enemy and the rat congress is our enemy. Maybe late than never.......
Because it's an impossible task. Bush hit them between the eyes with the truth. Kicking and screaming is all they've got.
