No doubt, I am a Chinese, in fact in Shanghai, but not a PLA.
I work in a US firm, indeed.
I hear about this website just because my friends told me that people here show a heart of mercy to pray for those Chinese in earthquake. What I could do just let people who care this disaster here know more about the truth.
I never try to spread any ChiCom propaganda, even never try to force you to believe in what I said in post. But my thread could supply a different view to you about what happened in our country.
Just as what Voltaire said, I do not agree with what you have to say, but I’ll defend to the death your right to say it.
Not death, but I respect your opinion even I don’t agree. That’s why I think we call here Free Republic.
Following is a letter I write to somebody who gave me a kindly welcome here, it also would be appropriate for all of you,
” Really, we didn’t have much feeling about Jesus or Christian, even many of us didn’t believe in Buddhism. But that doesn’t mean we are people without faith. We also believe what you believe, we do what you think is right, just without God’s guidance. We could be guided by a mercy heart.
Lack of communication and fake news set up China’s image like religious or political persecution. Just like many Chinese thought American had unhealthy attitude toward sex. But I think it’s very wrong idea. With the platform just like FReeRepublic, we could know and understand each other better.”
Glad to have you here. I’ve posted this elsewhere on FR but will post it again - at this time, my prayers and thoughts are with the victims and their families in China and Burma. People are suffering and incompetent governments only make this worse.
I, like most FReepers, welcome the chance to have a discussion with you and other China FReepers. I also hope such interactions will pave way for democracy, freedom, and liberty for the good people of China and the people living in the occupied territories of Tibet, Xinkiang, and Inner Mongolia.
What someone here want to hear is that we all hate the gov. and we are suffering in hell in china.Anything else would be regarded as lie.It's hard to communicate with such pertinacious bias.
Funny that it's very same as in some Chinese forum.If anyone of here can read Chinese,you can go to www.tianya.cn(which have more than 20,000,000 registered users and usually 200,000 online),or some other big forum. The reason why so many chinese come here is only because some thread with your link about the quake appeared on such forum.So it's not strange to have some curious ones here.I really see some threads posted by other country which also draw not only welcome but also suspicion.Just like here.
With suspicion communication is hard and even impossible.I think we can do nothing about this and have to leave,leave them in their delusion of persecution.

I am glad you are here and I am american & always seem to get my self in trouble here at Free Republic ... no matter what you say or believe about anything, there will be someone who will jump on you about it.. sad but true. Religion, politics, & sex the BIG issues but there are others..
