It seems the point that should be made here is the Teacher should not have made the results of the test available to the students even if she thought the test and question was appropriate, which I believe it was not for any age student. A discussion of the downside of teenage pregnancy and STD need not include humiliating a student. Plainly it was a decision of monumentally stupid proportions this teacher made.

If a teacher somehow becomes aware of a students promiscuity the teacher should inform the school administrator and a decision should be made to determine the truth of what has been learned and if found to be credible the information should be passed on to the parents.

They’re 6th graders, this is by far the worst age group. They are mean and catty. They probably picked her BECAUSE she was an honor student, or because they don’t like her clothes, or because they may see her as a “goody two shoes”.

Ah... we're talking 5th graders. Little girls can and do get jealous. She's a superior student, and the little kids found a way to make the honor student feel "bad". The little boys probably see her as a "kiss up", and translated that to mean "promiscuous".

So. Now, doing well at school is more than just "acting white" but grounds for labeling a person as more likely to get pregnant out of wedlock, get aids, etc?

The question of the survey is about who is most likely to get into trouble. The question might as well read:

Who do you wish bad things would happen to..

Teacher should be fired.

6th grade girls could be nothing more than fact she was honor roll student who teachers liked.

Pettiness and vindictiveness are very prevalent among girls at this age especially in schools where GOD is the enemy.

It could be something as simple as jealousy and wanting to bring the girl down a notch, but, yeah, I’d look into it.

That said, the teacher should not only be fired, but be disciplined and fired.

I think the families may have grounds for a civil suit against the teacher as well.

Good point.

In 6th grade, no, but by 8th grade my rather naive 13 year old mind still knew who’d get knocked up before high school was out...and I was pretty much on the nose accurate.
