Newspaper asks for Eve Carson autopsy results to be released
WRAL-TV ^ | 5/13/2008 | Kelsey Carson

The News & Observer filed a motion Monday opposing the Orange County district attorney's request to seal the results of the autopsy of murdered UNC student Eve Carson.

Last week, Superior Court Judge Allen Baddour ordered that the results remain under seal to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation into the 22-year-old Athens, Ga., senior's death.

"Yes, but what is going through their minds now?

Are they in the upstairs bedroom, curled up in the fetal position, clutching a pillow to their stomachs with one hand, and holding a revolver in their mouths with their other?

Or are they walking around town with plastic, glassy-eyed Stepford Wives faces - smiling yet unblinking - happily greeting their acquaintances and sipping mint juleps and chatting about how nice the weather has been this spring?

Or have they experienced a profound change of heart - have they discarded & jettisoned all their old leftist beliefs & fantasies, and are they now seething with rage and preparing to get even?

That's what I'd like to know.

Very well put. I to wonder what is going through the parents minds. I know what I'd be thinking if this was my daughter. And it wouldn't be about any Christian forgiveness, turn the other cheek and just ignore it pacifistic nonsense. The two feral hominids who committed this atrocity should be strung up and gutted like cattle.

This is an excerpt of what her father said at the convocation UNC held on campus, which attracted 10,000 or so attendees.

Bob Carson:

"The irony of Eve’s murder is that she, along with these blessed friends and fellow students, are the ones who can solve the most pressing problems of this time. Please don’t attribute this to hyperbole or relate it to a father’s sadness. I see a stunningly beautiful convergence of talent and caring in this, our children’s, generation. It is the most fantastic realization.

I believe that these kids, along with their peers around the globe, can reach reasoned solutions for mitigating violence and tackling many of the inequities of poverty, prejudice, inadequate health care and under-education. This is no pie-in-the-sky wish! These kids are smart! They’re so capable.

They’re more productive because they collaborate and communicate like no generation before them. And what is even more wonderful is their generosity. Isn’t that tremendous?"

Any assessments?

I suppose they may be unable to express their feelings about this case, either numb from the shock of the sudden, unexpected loss, on the advice of the investigators in Chapel Hill, or possibly not calling for justice to be served, so as not to lose face amongst their liberal brethren in Athens, Georgia.

I do hope the latter is not the case. Something tells me that as they look out their windows at night and wonder, “why? why?” they somehow think, “Eve would have wanted to help these young men, who were disenfranchised by society...”

Here’s my assessment.

Mr Carson views his daughter’s death as a worthy loss in the greater cause of liberalism.

She was a tool. That is all.

Yes, but what does he think now that he knows that these two animals hunted down his daughter the way two lions might chase a stray wildebeest, and that they blew three fingers off her right hand when she tried to shield her face?

Did her father look at her body in the morgue?

I assume it was a closed casket funeral, but I wonder if anyone from her family even had the strength of character to look at her body?

Or was it entirely a clean, hygenic, antiseptic affair, where they simply accepted the Medical Examiner's word that their daughter's corpse had been placed in the coffin which was delivered to them?

If I say much more at this point, then I'll run the risk of getting banned by the Admin Moderator, but if her father isn't consumed with a desire to gut these two baboons and feed their entrails to a barnyard full of swine, then, quite frankly, her father is inhuman.

Of course, I suppose that's what a lifetime of liberalism will do to you - it desensitizes you and dehumanizes you until you become just an empty, hollow Stepford Wife of a man - a shadow where once there was a soul.

That is horrible: cruel and inhuman.

I feel a lot less safe than I used to.

The university flew down their jet to pick up the Carsons and bring them to Chapel Hill. The body was identified by friends, not the parents.

Ms. Carson’s remains were buried privately before her funeral, thus giving it an almost detached feel.

Compare all this to the equally horrific murder of Auburn freshman Lauren Burk, there was no secret burial service beforehand. I sense that her family sees the crime against their daughter as an outrage.

While the prosecutors there in Lee County, Alabama haven’t said much, there already is an indictment where we have the main facts — she was abducted at gunpoint, told to remove her clothes (in anticipation of rape by suspect) shot in the head and left to die in the middle of highway north of town.

The investigators got a confession out of suspect Courtney Lockhart, who is probably aware of his certain fate (death row at Holman Prison). The suspects in the Eve Carson case, according to investigators, haven’t said much, probably because they know they can game the more liberal minded system up there.

Which gets back to my original question: What is going through her parents' minds?

Are they in denial, and pretending that they never had a daughter - or maybe that she's still alive, and that she'll come home to visit them after summer school finishes?

Or do they somehow maybe think that by sacrificing their own daughter they've brought themselves even greater glory in the pagan religion of Leftism?

Remember, they were okay with their daughter going to Cuba for a spring semester of college (with the Duke Morehead Scholars program), where she was photographed waving the Cuban flag heartily during a parade.

As you've suggested in another thread KayEye, Eve may very well have become more interested with the allure of political power over pursuing medical school. Indeed, she managed to get her picture taken shaking Barack Obama's hand a few months ago. It brings to mind the photograph of a young William Jefferson Clinton shaking John Kennedy's hand decades ago.

Thanks for the ping.

It would be impossible to guess what they were thinking, as I do not understand the liberals mental workings.

That's exactly what the current PC liberalism, offer our necks to any minority or Muslim is designed to do. Strip people of their identity and humanity and make them sheep fit to be sheared. Well the liberals and criminals have a nasty surprise in store for them if they think the majority of Americans are going to sit by and watch the crime war being waged against them destroy their families and country. Many folks I've spoken to about the current social situation in America have had enough. They're going to first start with their so called elected representatives at the ballot box.
