Tehran - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Tuesday that Israel would "be soon swept away" from the Palestinian Territories by the Palestinians. It is the second time within less than three years that the Iranian president predicted the eradication of the Jewish state.
The first time was in 2005 when Ahmadinejad hoped that Israel would be eradicated from the Middle East map.
"This terrorist and criminal state is backed by foreign powers, but this regime would soon be swept away by the Palestinians," Ahmadinejad said in a press conference in Tehran.
Referring to worldwide celebrations for the 60th anniversary of Israel's foundation, he said that "it would be futile to hold a birthday ceremony for something which is already dead."
"As far as the regional countries are concerned, this regime does not exist," Ahmadinejad added.
The Iranian president said last week that the anniversary feasts could not save this "rotten and stinking corpse."
Ahmadinejad caused international outrage in the past by hoping for the eradication of Israel, the relocation of the Jewish state to Europe or Alaska and questioning the historic dimensions of the Holocaust.
Could you imagine 72 “not so Brights”?
May Amad-nutjob, a modern day Haman, meet the same fate as his Biblical namesake.
Maybe when Barack has him over for tea and zaa’tar sandwichs they can talk they can discuss this situation with candor. Then Barack can leave the room and the real boss can come into talk—Michelle, my belle.
The little creep isn’t worth a bucket of warm spit. His claim to fame is his running his mouth.
I’ll huff and I’ll puff, and I’ll blow your house down!
For God's sake Nutjob, sh*t or get off the pot already!!!
BTTT!
Agreed. The more I think about this the more I am inclined to think that Ahmanutjob is simply trying to get the US into some sort of action. His economy is a mess, he is facing pressure at home and what better way to turn the light from himself and toward a common enemy, the great satan.
“Soon” is a relative term. In a cosmic sense, 50 years would be very soon. Demographics might make it happen in that span.
Food riots, skyrocketing energy costs...
This is just a tiny sliver of what we would experience if a madman like Ahmadinejad ever controlled Mideast oil. The entire world economy would be screwed up, and the suffering and violence that would emerge would be catastrophic.
Amazed that those “peace” protesters in 2003 didn’t realize this. Also amazed that people complain about the relatively low cost of supporting decent government there today.
Great way to talk about a Democratic Ally in the Mid-East. No, we don’t just let them kill each other off...we support Israel.
IMO I think Israel would prefer to be left alone for a bit. We tell them to open their nasty roadblocks and force them to declare ceasefires when they’re winning against Hamas and/or Hezbollah. They can’t catch a break!
President Bush is by no means the worst offender here, but the much-touted road-map needs to go away.
Hear-hear!

Obama will talk him out of it.
We really need to start working on getting all the oil we can from the Alberta tarsands, the atlantic etc. We won’t jihad you guys, just start using our oil and forget these nutters in the middle east - leave them alone, let them wallow in their crap.
1Ki 18:24 And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the LORD: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken.
Watch out little man...
“May Amad-nutjob, a modern day Haman, meet the same fate as his Biblical namesake.”
Amen!
