So let me make sure I understand this. The author says that conservatives did not push their agenda hard enough while Republicans (not all of whom could be called conservative) were in power. So now we are told that conservatives are to blame in one sentence and in the next that we should drop our principles and vote for the candidate that does not want to drill in Alaska, is pro amnesty, led the "gang of 14" etc., because the other candidates are worse.

I'm a realist and don't want a liberal agenda in the White House. However, I would rather see conservatives concentrate on the Senate and House and gain a majority in the congress. Unfortunately, with a Republican in the White House I'm afraid that party unity would trump conservative values, again and the amnesty fight and non effective energy policies would continue.
