I know that, but they realy deserve that. Again I don’t work for the gov, but an America Company. Their behavior (publishing rumors) just increases the panic of the people.

They deserve to be arrested for publishing pictures because it creates more panic in the people?

In America we have the 1st Amendment, the first right we have been given is the right to free speech. I am flabbergasted that you think it's ok to arrest someone for publishing pictures that are real and true because they would "increase the panic of the people". Amazing.

They weren't publishing rumors, they were taking factual pictures. How do you get rumors out of that?

In the USA it’s called “Inducing public panic” and yes we do have laws on the books against it.

If a disaster of this magnitude happened in the USA, Marshall Law would be immediately declared.

Hi ozarkgirl, we don’t want to make you feel that so many Chinese are making enemy with you. We think in different ways. More communication will make our heart and mind closer.

Ozarkgirl, I'm a bit confused. Are you talking about the article in post 1234? Xinhua says one of them, surnamed Tang, released a picture on an internet forum purporting to show many Sichuan residents escaping the quake. But police found Tang’s picture was actually of a crowd celebrating an event linked to the upcoming Beijing Olympic Games in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan. The other, surnamed Jin, is said to have posted a picture of a department store building on an online forum and claimed its roof had collapsed. Police discovered the collapse never occurred. According to the article, these two that were arrested were posting bogus pictures and lies. Was there another article that I missed, perhaps on another thread? Thanks. :)
