Hillary Rodham Clinton began her presidential quest armed with talent, tenacity, fame, money, connections and a team that knew how to win.
Many people believed her victory in the Democratic nomination battle was a sure thing. Her ultimate failing may have been in believing it, too.
Clinton had one big problem out of the gate: 40 percent or more of Americans said they'd never vote for her. She was too polarizing. It's love her or hate her.
Clinton powered through that hurdle in state after state, showing grit that earned her the valuable political currency of being merely admired.
White men, blue-collar workers, socially conservative Democrats however you slice the electorate, she brought many of those people to her side, over time, and took the edge off the Hillary haters.
Voters, whose No. 1 concern had been ending the Iraq war, started worrying more about the economy. That was a switch from his strength to hers.
Despite all that, her campaign is on the ropes. Clinton is fighting on for a prize few believe she can win anymore, barring some game-changing development.
Clinton once said she is the most famous person no one knows, meaning Americans don't really get her.
Sixteen months after she opened her campaign sitting on a couch in a cozy online video, it's questionable whether people ever discovered the authentic Clinton.

I’ve never liked her but I’m damn tired of the media and certain “spokespeople” telling her to back out. That woman (I use the term loosely) has worked her fanny off. She’s schemed, pushed, bitched, and skullduggeried for years to get where she’s at. So by the dickens, “you go, girl!” Hang in there! Go the bloody distance.
A real Riches to Rags story, made for TV movie.
I imagine Rudy Giuliani knows exactly how she feels.
Don’t worry for Hillary. She’ll have dumbo whacked by the 4th of July.
Do you really think so?
She can't quit. That's her job.
It’s amazing how Hillary has maintained the “poor underdog” position while running against a relatively unknown black man. I guess the only way people can stomach the arrogance of the Clinton’s is to have her perceived has being the underdog. It’s just so unbelievable.
I’m still worried that McCain is going to have her as the VP slot and then step-down for health reasons. That’s the only way she’ll be elected into office and that would be consistent with McCain’s “maverick” image. What a nasty election year!
her whole life was building up to this moment.
all those years of work, of the cheating, scheming, lying, thieving, bribery and corruption... all for naught.
it was hers for the taking and she blew it!!!
even her stolen FBI files were no help against some whelp out of nowhere... this clean, well spoken magic negro beat her at her own game, in spades.
she'll prolly be on suicide watch when this is over.
I can’t imagine why everyone is finally sick of this pushy Marxist lesbian liar who uses her position to blackmail and ruin the lives of anyone who threatens her power. Everyone ought to fear anyone who wants to be President as much as Hillary. Even the Rats are sick of her and the Clinton pack of thugs.
It’s delicious that a young black anti-American Senator with baggage of his own is going to win the nomination. What an insult to Hillary. It sure puts a big smile on my face!
As she sees Obama become the Dem Elect, she'll give some speeches which show her as the comeback uniter of the party. She'll make you think Obama is going to be the country's saviour.
Then "POW".....
In spades, huh? Interesting choice of words.
ROPE A DOPE!
Almost two years ago I stated several times here that I didn't believe that Rudy or Hillary would be the nominees. Needless to say I received a few chuckles at that time.
Yep I think so too and several people I know think the same thing. That's the ace up her sleave. Trouble is, everyone will know she had it done and it'll backfire.
They've given her a remake, told her to soften her shrewish screeching, and portrayed her as everything from the underdog, to the candidate of white lunchpailman, to a gun owning hunting, combat vet who downs shots of booze. If a Republican tried this stuff, he and definitely she, would be laughed out of town, exposed to hit pieces with John Stewart, Mad TV and SNL, plus the daily press. They would make Dan Quayle's treatment look good by comparison. The press gave her a lot of breaks even though they love Obama.
Bottom line, she's an ugly communist witch in a pant suit. The media liked the younger fresher communist after holding up the other one for so long. The media and Dem establishment finally got bored and tired of her. They never did like her much anyway, but since she was for their revolution, they fought tooth and nail for Hillary and her slimy husband.
