Hillary Rodham Clinton began her presidential quest armed with talent, tenacity, fame, money, connections and a team that knew how to win.
Many people believed her victory in the Democratic nomination battle was a sure thing. Her ultimate failing may have been in believing it, too.
Clinton had one big problem out of the gate: 40 percent or more of Americans said they'd never vote for her. She was too polarizing. It's love her or hate her.
Clinton powered through that hurdle in state after state, showing grit that earned her the valuable political currency of being merely admired.
White men, blue-collar workers, socially conservative Democrats however you slice the electorate, she brought many of those people to her side, over time, and took the edge off the Hillary haters.
Voters, whose No. 1 concern had been ending the Iraq war, started worrying more about the economy. That was a switch from his strength to hers.
Despite all that, her campaign is on the ropes. Clinton is fighting on for a prize few believe she can win anymore, barring some game-changing development.
Clinton once said she is the most famous person no one knows, meaning Americans don't really get her.
Sixteen months after she opened her campaign sitting on a couch in a cozy online video, it's questionable whether people ever discovered the authentic Clinton.

Ropes....Hillary....hmmmmmm.....fitting.
The factoid I am quite proud of and unsurprised at it that southern racists voted Obama in huge numbers. It was the white middle class of the east coast and Wisconsin who scream white guilt at every opportunity until they get in the voting booth who snuggle up to Hillary, yet it's the south that's racist. Go figger?
Any Clinton could walk onto the set of the Oprah Show and pull a gun, murder the Olsen Twins on national television and still claim they had nothing to do with it. Clintonista tactics are to commit crimes so big and bold that nobody wants to bring charges up for it. It makes the prosecution look insane. Like who would sell missile technology to the Chicoms? Who would kill the Whitehouse Counsel? Who would hire Craig Livingstone, only to have him order and distribute 900 FBI files on political adversaries within the executive office? Who would murder an entire compound of Branch Davidians for selling firearms for which the Bureau of ATF had already issued him a permit to do? Who would claim the shooting down of TWA 800 was an accident? Who would pay Danny Williams to go to private Boarding School in Australia when his mom is a prostitute in Little Rock? Who visits children's hospitals and has all the sick kids removed and replaced by healthy kids so the photo op looks better?
No, the Clintons only do stuff that's so outrageous that the media knows the country can't handle the truth. Just ask Sam Donaldson.
proverbial noose meets neck.
I sure hope she doesn’t win. I can’t stand her and Billary and their criminal background history. She is not all sweetness and light. I think they are both evil. the ones who are voting for her have no idea what these two did. They should start by reading some books written by authors who knew them personally.
I’d hardly compare Rudy’s run, measured in political nano-seconds to Hillary’s extended run as also-ran.
How could anyone claiming to be religious vote for someone who condones murder of the unborn?
“Clinton once said she is the most famous person no one knows, meaning Americans don’t really get her.”
The few who tried are sporting ashtray in their skulls.
and by the way SHE brought few if any new voters to her side...Rush did that. There are still just as many Hillary-haters and when she started in Iowa.
Love it. Being rejected by her own party has got to hurt, at least I hope so!!!
It's a beautiful thing to watch.
A classic case of spending a billion dollars to give a message nobody wants.
I think some of us know the real Hillary. That is why she must be stopped.
I pray to God the rest of your peophecy comes to pass, but I won’t believe it until I hear her voice crack as she makes her concession speech. Not one minute before.
peophecy=prophecy.
I join you in prayer, but I really believe that the superdelegates will go with Obama. The luster is gone from the Clintons’ veneer and some of their closest allies from the past have publicly rejected them. Even folks like Feinstein are having serious doubts and expressing them publicly.
Why do we always hear this nonsense..what about Perot GIVING the presidency to the impeached clinton not once..but TWICE?!?!?!??!!!
Time for her to taste the canvas for good.
