Here is MY note to the two writers of this article:

Gentlemen:
I know you don’t SELECT the headlines, but can you PLEASE let your editor know that his BS “Anti-immigration candidates” headline is MISLEADING and just plain WRONG!
I am NOT “anti-immigration”, and neither are any candidates running for major office. It is ILLIGAL immigration that we are opposed to. My wife is Chinese and we got her over her LEGALLY via a fiancee visa five years ago. She then applied for and received her permanent residency (”green card”). She has now applied for citizenship and has an interview set for this June and will hopefully get citizenship shortly thereafter.
So while I am FOR enforcing our immigration laws, I am NOT ANTI-IMMIGRATION. Get it???
Get the FACTS straight please. The misleading headline that implies that people who want immigration laws ENFORCED are RACIST BIGOTS is just WRONG and totally misleading, and shows bias on the editor/headline writers part.
Thank you,

Feel free to email them yourselves, too! :)
Ask them why they are against legal immigration?
That stuns them out here.
Gentlemen:
As a long-ago member of the Fourth Estate, I still flinch when reporters are called "presstitutes". No doubt that epithet, or worse, will be hurled your way by those who don't realize that reporters don't write the headlines.
"Anti-immigrant"? Can you spell A-G-E-N-D-A? The bad part is that reporters get tarred with the same brush as their Politically Correct editors, and once people get wind of bias, the whole article is under suspicion.
The problem that everyone but the editors see is the ILLEGAL immigrants who cut into the front of the line and cop an attitude, not the legal ones who play by the rules.
Please pass this on up the line - occasionally "stuff" DOES flow uphill.
Sic 'em. (smiley)
One of them replied:
Thanks for taking the time to write and point out the headlines on our site. The Web site headlines have been changed. Im sorry if the statements came across as a bias, but assure you nothing of the sort was intended. Thanks again for your feedback and giving me a heads up. Im forwarding your e-mail to my editor.
The headline now reads "Tim O'Hare wins Farmers Branch mayor's race"
