There’s something missing from the Barack Obama campaign this weekend: virtually all mention of his primary opponent, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.
In speeches and in brief press conferences, Senator Obama has been pounding away on the presumptive Republican nominee, John McCain, often using identical rhetoric that was served up against Clinton just days ago.
All day Friday and again on Saturday, Mr. Obama has been unrelenting in his attacks on Mr. McCain’s so-called Gas Tax Holiday plan, which Mr. Obama ridicules as saving motorists “a quarter and a nickel a day” through the summer. It’s same attack he launched against Mrs. Clinton during the run up to the May 6 primaries in North Carolina and Indiana, only lately with Mrs. Clinton virtually airbrushed from his text. Over the past two days, Mr. Obama has uttered the word “Clinton” sparingly, and only in response to questions from audience—usually on health care—at some of his mass rallies. His campaign confirms that mention of Mrs. Clinton has disappeared from all prepared remarks.
In his sharpened attack on Senator McCain, Senator Obama on Saturday indicated he may be willing to reach back several decades to remind voters of skeletons in the Arizona Senator’s closet. On Friday night Obama supporter Peter Fazio, a member of Oregon’s delegation in the House of Representatives, raised Mr. McCain’s membership in the so-called Keating Five group of Senators criticized for their relationship with bank executive, Charles Keating, who later was convicted of looting a Savings and Loan institution during the 1980s. “Congressman de Fazio delivered speech that wasn’t my speech,” Mr. Obama said, but added “I can’t quarrel with the American people wanting to know more about” Mr. McCain’s role in the banking debacle, which would would be a fair topic for discussion in the general election campaign.

The Clinton issue still hovers on the edge of the campaign, though. Sparks flew at the end of a Saturday morning press conference in Bend, Ore., when a reporter asked Mr. Obama to respond to a column by conservative pundit Robert Novak that reports Michelle Obama has vetoed talk of an eventual unity ticket with Mrs. Clinton. After stiffening, Mr. Obama answered curtly:
“My wife does not talk to Bob Novak on a regular basis…” before stalking off to visit an abbreviated rope line.
Truth be told... nobody can stand a Clinton.
If McCain wants to win the presidency he should ask the beast to be his running mate.
If Hillary played it right, she could be President for almost ten years if for some reason she were Vice President and had to assume the office of President after the midpoint of Obama’s term. I can’t imagine someone wanting to put Hillary just one of his heatbeats away from her becoming President.
Operation Chaos has not been terminated. Hildebeast is not going away.
Obama reached into the silverware drawer and took out the fork to put in her - she’s d-o-n-e, and it’ll be Obama vs McCain.
Of course, I’m not ruling her out completely, but what she’ll have to do by now to be the nominee will be the real Operation Chaos, she’ll have to obliterate the democrat(ic) party.

No, DUH. Of course.
We’ll see if McCain has the brains and balls to fight back in kind, with effect.
Or, if he rolls over and puts his fuzzy little tummy-side up for Obama to stomp on.
After all, at his core, John McCain is a “bipartisan” Democrat-loving liberal.
Amen on that. I am sick and tired of seeing her and...him dragging along behind like a puppy. They are UNLIKEABLE and... she is UNELECTABLE. It’s done...over.
