Translation: they'll all be a bunch of democrats, with the possible exception of Lex Luthor and Darkseid.

The sad thing is, this is just a marketing response to Marvel’s Civil War event—from two years ago!

Political stands? Since when has anybody in this Presidential process ever taken a true political stand? Possibly McCain, possibly a little. But Hillary and Obama, they are just too much. Obama wants to please everybody and so does Hillary. When she was pandering(some of the worst pandering) and started acting a little Pro-Life, that was the worst act I had ever seen.
A political stand would actually make them both look heroic as they try to either sound off as sounding contrary to McCain(even on Immigration, watch Hillary act like an Immigration hawk on O’Reilly) or sound like they are trying to please everybody. Forget Hillary and Obama, Superman is more realistic for the Democrats. Afterall he did get rid of nuclear arms in the fourth movie.

First...thanks for the ping!!!
This series seems like a bad idea...I compare it to singers and actors who insist on making a show of endorsing a candidate. Leaving aside the question of why the ability to sing or act makes one's opinion worthy of national platform, it seems like an unhealthy move from a business standpoint. Endorsing a politician is something that could possibly tick off half of your audience! I can think of at least one singer whose CDs I play a lot less often since he came out supporting Jon Carry in 2004. I knew he was a liberal, but to have it thrown at me kind of breaks a fourth wall of sorts...
Based upon recent sales figures, DC should not alienate any more readers by tainting their characters with politics. I only read a tiny handful of Marvel Comics today, but from what I've read here and there it seems the "Civil War" (which I haven't read) has painted Marvel characters on either side of a line that has strong political overtones. Not smart in my view...I read comics to escape, and the current political climate and upcoming election are some of the things I need to get away from at times.
Plus, you just know with all the liberals in comics that Republicans will probably end up being represented by Guy Gardner, Brother Blood and Granny Goodness.

It will be interesting, watching the way that the comic writers will have to twist these characters to fit the round peg into the square hole.... in other words, after years/decades of some of these heroes “protecting the innocent” and then find out they’re pro-abortion? That’ll be hard to reconcile.

FWIW, I remember an interview with Batman writer Denny O'Neil where he said that he always assumed Bats was a conservative who voted for Reagan.
But who would Angel and the Ape vote for?
