Today at about the time this thread is posted the President will be walking his daughter Jenna down the aisle in Crawford Texas as she marries Henry Hager. The White House has promised to release a couple of photos of this very private event tomorrow.

On Friday evening the President attended a wedding rehearsal dinner near his ranch and the previous evening the Vice President spoke at an event in Washington celebrating the 60th year of the nation of Israel.

Pray for President Bush -- Day 2795

I am reading the comments. This one (BagA1999) is unbelievable ignorant

REPLY: Chicken-wask republican politicans who send young women and men to die for Iraqi oil, but don't want their own daughters or sons-in-law to do anything for the US of A.

FDR and Ike's sons servied in war. Edward Kennedy served as a enlisted man. George Herbert Hoover Walker Bush went AWOL during war and Dick Cheney just flat refused to go, to busy.

Not only was her dress stunning, but it was perfect for the type of event she wanted. With a small train and no veil, it fit right in with the guys wearing dark suits. Classy, elegant and simple. Love it!!

Oscar da la Renta outdid himself with the dresses he designed. That color on Laura is spectacular and the dress fits her so well. And I can’t say enough about Jenna’s gown.

I am so glad we got more than “a couple of photos” like they said.

I read the entire article you posted and loved it. Barbara looked pretty good today for staying up dancing till 3 a.m. I wonder what time W checked out.

“Ignorant” doesn’t begin to describe most of the people(?) who make ‘on-line’ comments — to include many who post here at FR!

The article also answered my question about what was on the plates in the photo:

Houston caterer Jackson Hicks and his team provided the three-course meal — a crabmeat tower appetizer, a steak and potatoes main course and wedding cake for dessert. The cake was not the soaring extravaganza typical of White House weddings; it was a simple but lovely confection, we were told.

I loved the setting. The cross and altar that W designed is fantastic and will remain in place for years to come.

I thought Barbara was supposed to wear a long, deep blue dress. Either the report was wrong or she changed it or maybe something happened to it.

....Lauren Bush, cousin of the bride. She played it low-key, traveling solo without her beau David Lauren of the Ralph Lauren family.

Bet she keeps her maiden name if she gets married to her beau; otherwise she will be known as Lauren Lauren.

I would have loved to have seen some photos of the Bride maids or House Party as they are called in Texas, in their dresses

I wonder, too, Daisy. The color was in line with what I had read before since it was described as an icy light blue, but there were supposed to be ruffles somewhere or other on it. And I WANT a picture of the 14 bride’s assistants because the colors and designs looked so beautiful.

I wanna see those house party gals too. I read that no two would be dressed alike...and that they would carry matching wildflower bouquets but if they didn't walk down the aisle, when did they carry the bouquets?

As for Barbara's dress, I also thought she was going to have a sash or ribbon that matched the hue of the house party to tie it all together?

In any case, we must keep an eagle eye out for photos of the houseparty as their is a lot of interest..lol..

Thank you, daisy ... beautiful Dose. What a glorious, happy wedding day. I don’t know how it could’ve been more wonderful and more “Bush” than it was.

I had gone to church last night .. and slept in late this morning. I started looking for the first picture about 12:15pm this afternoon. Shortly thereafter .. boom .. FNC announced the first picture, so then I knew they were being released.

Then .. gradually more and more were released .. and before I knew it, it turned into a pretty big thread.

I just got back from my Mother’s Day celebration with my sons tonight, and I can’t believe how many views the thread got. Amazing. What a loving, “normal” family of rock solid, decent Americans.

I love Jenna’s dress ... also wish we could see the “house party” group.

The articles said no cell phones or cameras were allowed, but I find that a tough restriction on friends and family, who would naturally want to take pictures of this great occasion.

God bless the marriage of Jenna and Henry Hager and the entire Bush family!

Here’s the views of that thread .. wow.
