Our government can now take people away based on their “belief system”?

The fLDS behavior is disgusting, wrong and criminal. I'm glad the state of Texas stepped in. But this section suggests they are attacking their religious beliefs which is a quagmire IMHO.

Part of the danger to the boys is that their belief system requires that they follow the prophet

CPS needs to walk a fine line or this crosses over to an attack or religion.

My boss, who is politically liberal and supports Obama (He says that no one but Obama is “addressing” the really important “issues”) says that people should have to get a license to become a parent. He says we license drivers and this is way more important than driving. He didn’t believe, as I said, that the system would be taken over by a group of people who would try to use it to reengineer society according to their own political beliefs. I’d guess that the reason he couldn’t see that danger is the same reason that he thinks only Obama is “addressing” the “real issues.”

Islam has the same belief system that no bride is too young. Mohammed married a 6 year old. Imam point out that Mohammed is a great man because he waited until she was 8 to consumate the marriage.

One would assume that pelvic exams were conducted on all of the female children to determine if underage sexual activity was evident. Positive evidence of such would be a blanket condemnation of the belief system and resulting environment.

Amazing! There’s another group with a dangerous belief system. That group is given a free pass and allowed to recruit and train murderers.
Hint - that other group is not a Christian group.

I can see separating fLDS kids from parents based upon their “belief system”. Scientology too. Seven Day Adventist are a little strange. Definitely Muslims. Hindus too. Some, if not all Souther Baptist are whacked. Those Hari Krishna orange robes are a fashion disaster, so their kids have to be protected. And Mormons, well their beliefs are over the top. Catholics are definably a cult. And I’m sure we can all agree on what to do with the Buddhist kids. Evangelicals sometimes speak in tongues, and handle snakes.

Since the women refuse to identify their own children, they should have NO say regarding the disposition of the children. The children are, in effect, abandoned by their parents.

I suspect the FLDS will abandon the children. To claim the kids puts them in jeopardy of rape, abuse, & abandonment charges. In the minds of these cultists, the children are expendable & easily replaced. Oh, & the men really enjoy the replacing part.

I believe it was a mistake to have the hearing for the group as a whole. The current group hearing gives the FLDS the advantage of strength thru unity. Divide & conquer is the key to unraveling this mess.

Without doing any DNA tests, the agency should have brought the youngest baby before the judge. The judge could have asked for BOTH the parents to step forward & identify themselves. If no one steps forward, the baby is abandoned. If someone claims the child, DNA tests can be done to verify this, & the process of determining if rape or abuse has occurred can go forward.

A few cases like above will convince the FLDS they cannot win, & their silence will be shattered. There is bound to be at least one mother that cannot bear to lose her child.

If the mothers were allowed to have custody of the children, on or off the ranch, the first children to disappear would be those who have a parent outside the cult who is likely to try get custody.

should not return there because its residents live as one big family and all have the same dangerous belief system.

Oh gee, I am SO surprised by this expected turn of events.

BTW, the CPS has come the the conclusion that there is only one man who is guilty of all the sex with a minor charges.

In most of the cases of pregnant underage girls, both the girls themselves, and the mothers have given the same exact name for the person responsible.

His name.......... NOT SURE.

(the hero of the movie IDIOCRACY).
