NEW YORK (AP) - Big corporations give him money. Presidential candidates seek his endorsement. He has influential friends in Congress and the governor's mansion. The Rev. Al Sharpton has emerged over the past decade as perhaps the nation's most prominent civil rights leader, a status that was demonstrated again this week when he led protests against police brutality that briefly shut down six of Manhattan's major bridges and tunnels.

But he still carries baggage from his early days as a fire-breathing agitator: Government records obtained by The Associated Press indicate that Sharpton and his business entities owe nearly $1.5 million in overdue taxes and associated penalties.

Now the U.S. attorney is investigating his nonprofit group, a probe that an undeterred Sharpton brushes off as the kind of annoyance that civil rights figures have come to expect from the government.

"Whatever retaliation they do on me, we never stop," he told the AP. "I think that that is why they try to intimidate us."

Wow, Horatio Caine is a parttime reporter! That guy’s really talented. But doesn’t he realize that Al Sharpton’s above the law? Al certainly does.

From a Sept 4, 2007, New York Post article titled: "Sean Bell Was Looking For Sex...". The piece sheds further light on the matter.

"According to a motion filed by the defense team, Detective Gescard Isnora said he saw Bell, 23, and his bachelor-party buddies exit the strip joint Club Kalua early that morning and proposition the woman as she talked to a man seated in an SUV.

The woman "refused to go to a hotel with them where they wanted to have sex with her," the court papers say.

An argument broke out, and the man in the SUV made several "unpleasant comments" to Bell's group, according to the documents.

Isnora said he heard Bell's pal Joseph Guzman yell, "Get my gun! Get my gun!" and Bell add, "Let's f- - - him up!"

(snip)

The papers say Isnora "saw Guzman reach down toward his waistband" after the trio got into a Nissan Altima, and yelled, "Police! Don't move!"

The car lurched forward, hitting Isnora's leg, and stopped in front of a van driven by Detective Michael Oliver. It then backed up into a wall before accelerating forward again and hitting the van.

"Convinced that if Guzman ever got to raise that hand, Detective Isnora would see a gun in it, he yelled, 'Gun!' and, 'He's got a gun!' and began firing," the motion states.

Once again, Sharpton is NOT a Reverend. He was “ordained” at age 10 by a preacher in Washington, DC. He has never had his own congregation, he's never been to college, nor has he ever attended the seminary or divinity school. Calling him “Rev.” is an insult to those who actually earned that title.

Rep. John Conyers (center), chairman of House Judiciary Committee, gets tour of Bell shooting site from Joseph Guzman (left)

FYI: Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, House Judiciary Committee chairman, John Conyers, and Jane Fonda, are several of many prominent signers of the "World Can't Wait--Drive Out the Bush Regime" initiative (see list of endorsers include--Conyers' endorsement appears right after Ward Churchill's). World Can't Wait--Drive Out the Bush Regime" is an "anti-war" front for the Revolutionary Communist Party. According to the then LA police commissioner, the RCP were largely responsible for 'triggering' the Rodney King riots where some 58 mostly innocent people were killed.

From the website of the Revolutionary Communist Party, parent org behind World Can't Wait--Drive Out the Bush Regime (rwor.org or revcom.us):
"Tearing Up the U.S. Paper Tiger in Korea: How 300,000 Chinese Troops Snuck into Korea and Kicked the Ass of the U.S. Armed Forces" RW #1059, June 18, 2000:
http://rwor.org/a/v22/1052-059/1059/korea.htm

The RCP "Mission Statement":
"Create Public Opinion, Seize Power! We are preparing minds and organizing forces for the time when there is a major crack in the system, whenever it comes and wherever it comes from: an opening that makes it possible to bring the future Revolutionary Army of the Proletariat (R.A.P.) into the field and wage a revolutionary armed struggle that actually has a chance of winning. And we have said that building our party itself is the most important part of organizing forces for revolution. This is true now, and it is true looking forward to the creation of that future R.A.P. and the waging of that armed struggle. ":
http://revcom.us/a/v20/1000-1009/1000/barw.htm

And...

"Throughout its history, one of RCP's principal objectives has been to foment civil unrest in the United States. The most notable example of such efforts occurred on April 29, 1992, when RCP members looted and trashed the downtown and government districts of Los Angeles, triggering the infamous Rodney King riots. During the days immediately preceding the violence, RCP -- which maintained close ties to the L.A. gangs known as the Crips and the Bloods -- had circulated throughout South Central Los Angeles a leaflet featuring a statement by RCP National Spokesman Carl Dix, titled 'It's Right To Rebel' -- a quote popularized by Mao Zedong.

Encouraged by Dix, RCP activists helped lead the riots that would leave 58 people dead, more than 2,300 people injured, some 5,300 buildings burned, and $1 billion in property damaged or destroyed. On the ten-year anniversary of the rioting, RCP member Joseph Veale fondly recalled the violence as 'the most beautiful, the most heroic civil action in the history of the United States.'"

I can’t claim credit for the knowledge, but the word “Reverend” is only found in the Bible once.

Psalms 111:9 He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend [is] his name.

No one, in my opinion, should take the name “Reverend”.

Sharpton is a liar and a fraud, just like his good buddy Osama Obama.

Maybe the "Rev" stands for Revolutionary.

One of the reasons I can not stand Sean Hannity is that he insists on having this race hustler on his show.

He has learned to work the sytem. He is a criminal extortionist who owns nothing. His 75,000 dollar jaguar was rescently towed in NYC but was not registered or owned by him. He lives in NJ but does his dirty work in NYC. He claims to speak to Obama weekly. Guess we can all assume who will be a frequent visitor at the Whitehouse along with Soros, Ayers and Wright. Remember to vote for change! Guliani says change can be good or it can be bad! For the young inexperienced white college kids who have not entered the work force, this is the man for them. For all others, white, black yellow and brown making over 50,000 and already being raped with taxes by the government, “o” is a big NO!

Sharpton should be given the Wesley Snipes treatment. Jail time including restitution for taxes owed. Throw the book at the scum bag.
