Think of the family reunions when she’s 80 years old.

Obviously you missed my point.

I was just saying that’s why they were asking. They just wanted to know if they the taxpayers were paying for it. That’s a legitimate question.

But it is a question that has been asked and answered on every thread I have ever read about this family, including this one.

Only Conservatives can have 18 children and be that organized.. Liberals can’t even manage one child without turning him/her into a brat!

My sister’s new father in law told a story at their reception that he too wanted 6 children. Then his wife informed him that wasn’t going to happen. They had three of their own, but consider each of their children’s spouses “kids”. So, on the day their youngest married my sister, he was pleased to announce they now had 6 children total.

I will be interested to see if the Duggar children, as they grow up, continue in the lifestyle in which they’ve been raised, if they reject it entirely, or somewhere in between. They appear to be happy and well-adjusted, but I can’t help but wonder if some of them would prefer a more solitary or ordinary existence.

I know, it was just an illustration that the world isn’t “crowded” by its present population.

The trouble is that the people that we want to be having more kids aren’t having enough - though it’s fine if libs don’t want to.

Ok. I got ya. Well, the Japanese have half the population of the U.S. living in a land mass the size of Montana, so we have a way to go.

Big families are great but I can see why some would not want them. Personally, I don't find this family very interesting, but I find people's reaction to them fascinating.

Heck, the reason that it’s difficult for a typical family to have more kids is that they’re supporting, through their tax dollars, the large illegitimate families of others.

You need to explore frontal lobotomy as an elective procedure.

That does make it more expensive, but I think that even if the tax rate were cut in half we would not see a return to the large family. Large families used to help guarantee stability and financial security. In the old country my family were bakers. More kids meant more help low cost help in the shop. None of those children went to college. It paid, literally, to have more kids. Those economics don't apply to an office worker in the city. You can't bring your 10 kids into the office and put them to work filing. And college even at State school is what 50-60K a pop?

This is why we don’t have children - the Duggars had enough to cover us.
