ME TOO!
I’m absolutely stunned by responses here. Why should it matter to you how they paid for their home?
You’re so right about the evil of abortion. I’ve had 3 pregnancies, but one ended in the fifth month with a miscarriage, another child was born with birth defects and died at six weeks old, and one (a son)was normal and survived and is now 42 yrs. old. After the third pregnancy and other life difficulties and health problems I could not face any more. To make matters worse, my husband had an affair after all that and I no longer felt that I could trust him not to dump me if the going got tough with another child or pregnancy. - I would have had more children if I could have.
You really needn't be concerned when there is ample proof that all is well. Your concern is misplaced. And it makes you seem to be one of those who think you know better than those who are in charge -- the parents.
No, the father and mother are traditional conservatives. I remember her saying they started their own businesses very young. They just had that independent business attitude that sometimes young people have - young and unafraid, and they just jump in and make a success via hard work and luck. They worked hard, paid their dues.
Eventually I think they got into real estate at the right time, although I think the house may have been furnished by a TV show they did. The Duggars do ATI, which is the life principles institute - Bill Gothard - for homeschool. I’m not a fan of it, but no one can pick on anyone in it for having less than REALLY conservative principles.
One, they believe in having a family business, two, no debt at all - not even a mortgage - three, no birth control - they believe children are blessings, and four, everything is bible based, although some of their hermanuetics are a touch suspect.
You can tell the family is amazingly organized. Michelle does all the things those of us who are less organized wish they could do, like read the bible and family dinners every day.
Those 18 kids are probably more cared for and more loved that the majority of kids out there, and they’ll probably all own their own businesses and make scads of money.
In any case, I love them simply because liberals hate them so much. Morford the creep actually did a column on how much he hated them because they were so white and Christian. Can’t beat that.
And the funniest part was that he described them as "sex-hating"! Obviously nobody ever taught poor Mark about the "birds and the bees."
That really IS funny!
I followed your link to the family’s website!
How amazing! I am jealous!
I like reading Mark Morford’s pieces ... he’s so totally dead wrong about everything, and he’s also very good with adjectives.
We need more Christian couples like this.

Amen!
I’’m not sure I’m familiar with him.
He’s a flaming gay moonbat who writes in San Francisco. His articles are something of a cult hit on FR.
I stopped at nine.
Then I’ve probably read some, but didn’t pay attetion to the writer’s name.
When you have that many children the older pitch in with the raising of the youngsters.

That is true. And both sets of kids benefit immensely — the one cared for and the one providing the care. I know whereof I speak, as I am from a family of 11.

Here’s an example. Most recently, he was opining that Hillary Clinton is sexier than Laura Bush. It was a riot!

Slacker!! :p
Last summer we went to a wedding where the groom was one of 16 children. When I first met his mother, I thought she was one of the bridesmaids. I’ve been depressed ever since.
Yup, I’ve read some of that stuff!
