LAKE ARROWHEAD, Calif. — A coyote grabbed a 2-year-old girl by the head and tried to drag her from the front yard of her mountain home in the third incident of a coyote threatening a small child in Southern California in five days, authorities said.

The coyote attacked the girl around noon Tuesday when her mother, Melissa Rowley, went inside the home for a moment to put away a camera, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department said in an incident report.

Rowley came out of the house and saw the coyote dragging her daughter towards a street. She ran towards her daughter, and the animal released the girl and ran away, said sheriff's spokeswoman Arden Wiltshire.

You can’t watch them every minute and they need to learn independence. When my 3 y/o grand daughter comes over, I let her play by herself in the back yard. She doesn’t know that I watch her from the table though.

Buy a good dog and assign it the task of guarding the kids.

That kind of statement makes you sound like an idiot.

Thanks for your opinion, but who asked you?

Were you trying to spell California?

No. I know how to spell California, thanks. I learned how in the 3rd grade. My spelling was intentional: The starting "K" was in honor of your State's continuing down the leftist path, and the "fornicatia" portion was devoted to your State's love of sexual perversion in its myriad forms.

San Bernardino is a rock-solid conservative county, one of the most reliably conservative regions of the country.

Didn't know that, but am glad to hear it. You may consider a move, though. You are hopelessly outnumbered by the fruits and nuts in the rest of your State.

She was playing in her yard. You can not keep an eye on them every second.

my dog would have and the coyote would have been dead meat

Thinning the population will keep the children safe.

It also teaches the survivors to be wary of humans, and makes them far less likely to view us as lunch.

Meanwhile, the wolf population grows, cougar are populating river bottoms and the breaks along the upper Missouri and its tributaries, and the dirt-worshippers still hate humans.

That’s a good idea. I’ve got a Bosten Terrior coming but I don’t know how good a guard dog she will be. My gentle, old lab passed away last year. Nothing came in her yard.

Kalefornicatia is the place where they put a guy in jail for 5 years because he shot a rattlesnake on his own property.

What will you get if you put dishes of antifreeze around your property?

Animals do seem to like the sweet taste - I'm told.

There was a disconnect of sorts no doubt. With abductions these days, I wouldn’t leave my young kid out at all. I go in, they go in. I don’t care how long it was.

These (few moments) are code for ten minutes in my universal translator.

It’s a line Elaine said to a woman at a party who kept referring to her boyfriend as ‘my baby’....’where’s my baby’, ‘I can’t find my baby.’. Elaine, fed up with all the ‘baby’ talk said to her in an australian accent , “Maybe a dingo ate yer baby.”...mimicing Meryl Streep in the movie.

“..it’s only a matter of time before coyotes attack in waves.”

Aren’t coyotes people who smuggle illegals into the US for pay? They’re already here.

This is because of global warming. The food suppy chain has begun its depletion, and now it’s only a matter of time before coyotes attack in waves.

Nope, this has happened because of animal rights idiots who feel that wolves and coyotes have a place in American society.
