At West Virginia rally, Clinton vows to fight on By David Brown TRIBUNE-REVIEW Thursday, May 8, 2008 CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Memo to those writing political obituaries for Hillary Clinton: She ain't done yet. Clinton sought to drive home that message to hundreds of cheering supporters at a rally here today, contending West Virginia will muzzle the pundits by giving her a resounding win on Tuesday over Barack Obama, whose victory Tuesday in North Carolina and strong showing in Indiana moved him closer to clinching the Democratic presidential nomination. "I know that according to the polls, I'm doing well here. But I want to do really well," Clinton said. "Some people call you swing voters, I call you hard-working Americans." She said she is best able to defeat Republican John McCain in the fall because she can carry swing states like Pennsylvania, Ohio, and, according to most predictions, West Virginia. Noting that no one has won the presidency since 1968 without carrying the Mountain State, she said West Virginians "represent the heart and soul of the Democratic Party."

Obama would have to be nuts to offer her the VP slot. His life expectancy would be 6 months after taking office—tops.
I agree with you...Look for an October surprise in late May or early June...It will be something on “BO” that hasn’t been uncovered and the Clintonistas will spring it on him and make the case that he can’t be elected in November. This witch may be down but she is a long way from being out of this thing. You can bet she still has something underhanded in her bag of tricks that she will use.
It cost the Clintons 6.5 million to lose NC big time and eke a win in Indiana. Keep on going Hillary, it is good for the economy.
There is no possible scenario for him to be less than 50 delegates ahead.
True, but "ahead" isn't the criterion for nomination. Unless Obama can come up with enough delegates to clinch, Hillary will argue that simply being ahead in the count doesn't cut it - a plausible position, actually - and she will have every right to proceed to the convention floor.
Hillary is in the scorch and burn mode.
If she can’t have it, no one will, and she may be able to run against McCain in 2012 - which would be unlikely if Obama gets elected.
Go Hildog!
Thanked ElRushbo and OPERATION CHAOS.
I was watching one of those cable talking head shows on an unnamed cable news channel, and a panelist said that Obama would need a food taster if Hillary was his running mate.
I couldn’t believe that somebody on a mainstream cable news show would say that. Talk of Arkancide and Clinton mysterious deaths are the stuff of internet bloggers, not so-called legitimate news commentators. I must say, I was shocked to hear somebody on TV say that.
True. I tell all who will listen-Obama’s votes practically doubled once Edwards dropped out. Most anti-Clinton white votes were going to Edwards. Once he was out, there was nowhere else to go except the Magic Negro. Had Obama not been running, and without the asinine operation ‘KAOS’, The Clintons would have been done for long ago.
