A controversial car wash is generating more than just suds.
Some parents and church members say they want the Bikini Car Wash kicked to the curb and out of their neighborhood.
With women bikini-clad and bearing more than just sponges, at a newly opened car was on South Flores, you can get your car hand-washed, waxed and dried, complete with a view.
Even those without cars go to soak in the sight of the sultry suds.
"I got a bike for now, but pretty soon I'm going to get me a car," Adam Tagle said. "I think it's wonderful."
Yet not everyone agrees.
"Nobody wants it there," one woman said
This naughty novelty has some South Side residents in a lather.
"It's just not an appropriate place for this type of business," Harlandale United Methodist Church member Barbara Wright said.
The Bikini Car Wash sits within feet of an elementary and middle school, and right across the street from Harlandale United Methodist Church.
Kids were seen gawking at the women washers.
"Before we opened, we went around asking permission from the church. They gave us permission to go ahead and do it. The pastor said that he was all for it," Jackie Pichardo said.
"I do find that very surprising, and in fact, I called the minister after hearing that, and he said he did not do that," Wright said.
Although some parents and church members say they want to clean their community of this controversial car wash, those at the business say it's just clean fun.
"It's not so much the people who are working there, it's the people they are drawing that scares me," one woman said.
"We're out in the open, doing everything in the open, so somebody would be able to see real quick if we're doing something wrong," Pichardo said.
The business has its proper permits. Meanwhile, the pastor of the church has sent a letter stating his concerns to the city
OMG...Now I know why there is a CONTROVERSY! These are the car washers!! :)
Well, of course you do Adam. You're a teenaged boy, so your hormones are raging.
I bet she is a NIMBY type. Lady, did you ask EVERYBODY in SAN ANTONIO?
Beware of those who claim to speak for everyone, especially when they are trying to steal someone's freedom.
I wonder if the lady protests 'HOOTERS' or the 'Wing House'
CURSE YOUR MUSTACHE! MAY FIRE ROAST YOUR STOMACH! PISS ON YOUR GOAT!
My daughter wouldn't be on that volleyball team long. It's one thing for adult women to do this. It's quite another for a school sanctioned fund-raiser.
No, they want Janet Reno in wet leather.
LOL
I wonder how many MUSLIMS took their cars to that car wash yet??
That is the general consensus.
Facts are irrelevant...appearance is the sole deciding factor on guilt.
Hot - Not Guilty
Not Hot - Guilty
The sentence is based on one bag or two.
....pictures please. :)
I wouldn't be so quick to rush to judgment.

See #49.
Cool Hand Luke?
They were 100% top shelf beauties, stunning jaw droppers. They had to shut it down due to an exponential increase in traffic accidents. I know I almost plowed into the car in front of me.
Mmmmmm, Lucille!
Yep.
I wonder if Barbara Wright thinks homosexual pastors are appropriate for the Methodist Church.
I would guess that far less than half of UMC congregations support or condone homosexual pastors. A assume xzins would confirm this.
No they don't. They are fine with things as they are.
