A controversial car wash is generating more than just suds.
Some parents and church members say they want the Bikini Car Wash kicked to the curb and out of their neighborhood.
With women bikini-clad and bearing more than just sponges, at a newly opened car was on South Flores, you can get your car hand-washed, waxed and dried, complete with a view.
Even those without cars go to soak in the sight of the sultry suds.
"I got a bike for now, but pretty soon I'm going to get me a car," Adam Tagle said. "I think it's wonderful."
Yet not everyone agrees.
"Nobody wants it there," one woman said
This naughty novelty has some South Side residents in a lather.
"It's just not an appropriate place for this type of business," Harlandale United Methodist Church member Barbara Wright said.
The Bikini Car Wash sits within feet of an elementary and middle school, and right across the street from Harlandale United Methodist Church.
Kids were seen gawking at the women washers.
"Before we opened, we went around asking permission from the church. They gave us permission to go ahead and do it. The pastor said that he was all for it," Jackie Pichardo said.
"I do find that very surprising, and in fact, I called the minister after hearing that, and he said he did not do that," Wright said.
Although some parents and church members say they want to clean their community of this controversial car wash, those at the business say it's just clean fun.
"It's not so much the people who are working there, it's the people they are drawing that scares me," one woman said.
"We're out in the open, doing everything in the open, so somebody would be able to see real quick if we're doing something wrong," Pichardo said.
The business has its proper permits. Meanwhile, the pastor of the church has sent a letter stating his concerns to the city
My Eyes!
She’s uglier than even Helen Thomas!
Beware of those who claim to speak for everyone, especially when they are trying to steal someone's freedom.
So is it going to be illegal to wash your car in a bathing suit in San Antonio? By the looks of all the Graffiti in the video, they have bigger problems. Did you happen to see the city truck slow down and stop in front of the car wash to take a peek? Ha, Ha!
There's also nothing stopping someone who objects to this car wash from opening their own, featuring women in burkas instead.
“Oh....Luceeeelle...”
None of these girls is very pretty. Quite average in fact. It's out in the open, so it's not like they're doing topless or nude. The novelty will wear off, and this business will fold all by itself. No need to enact any legislation. Give it a few months and it's toast.
Doncha know? SA is whine central. Didn't you ever watch the Spurs (pretty efficient, but very boring, I know)? They are one of the NBA leaders in the art of the whine. I have even heard ESPN NBA analysts state this, so it is not just my opinion.
Duncan has never committed a foul in his life, so if he is wrongly whistled for one, he follows the ref around with a look and hand gestures that say, "I can't believe you just killed my puppy. You would do that on national TV? You are really a mean man ... "
Truly, it is impossible for FR to speak intelligently on this topic without pictures.
This thread is worthless without pics!!!!
Why is Helen Thomas being forced on my eyes again?
Or, for that matter, how does that differ from the local high school volleyball team turning up for their fundraising car wash in bikinis?
If that were true, there would be no customers, and the "problem" would take care of itself.
High taxes, ridiculous local government license and permit fees, liberal judges, enviro-nazi economic pillaging, illegal immigration wreaking havoc with jobs, $3.50 gal/gas, an inept and helpless Congress, rampant political corruption and these folks are worried about a seeing a beach scene in their neighborhood........
Honestly I watched the video and am OK with it. It’s not like they’re wearing thongs or anything it’s just regular bikini’s. The guy wanting to have his bike washed needs to get a life though. HAHA.
No, they want Janet Reno in wet leather.
The United Methodists are just upset they're not men.
I thought the guy paying to get his bike washed was the funniest part.
I've seen a LOT less on the beach or some of our local lakes too.
Am I doing that right? I’m not real hip to FRingo.
Hot->Not Guilty of whatever
Not Hot->Guilty
right?
